The Malaysian Perioperative Medicine Society was honored to participate as a supporting organization at the 5th FFNM x 1st MyBone Annual Scientific Meeting 2026 last weekend at M World Hotel! Held under the banner “Beyond Fragility: Optimizing Bone Health, Healing and Recovery,” the event brought together dedicated healthcare professionals to advance orthogeriatric and perioperative care.
Key Highlights:
🩺Perioperative Care Track: Endorsed by MPOM society, this track covered crucial clinical management strategies for older fragility fracture patients, including intraoperative hypotension, anaemia, and targeted pain management.
🔥 Hot Topic Panel Discussion: An engaging session tackled the key question: “Should all fragility hip fractures be operated?” Panels dissected complex patient scenarios, balancing rapid surgical timing against pre-operative medical optimization—especially in patients with chronic conditions and end-organ failure.
🫶Multidisciplinary Alignment: The MDT discussions provided invaluable insights into establishing aligned goals of care to maximize patient outcomes.
Our President, Dr. Fadzwani Basri, along with Exco members Dr. Syarifah Nazihah and Dr. Sebastian Sundaraj, were delighted to attend and engage in these vital conversations.
