Not all probiotics are the same.
Two products may both say “probiotic” on the label but contain completely different microorganisms, strains, quantities and combinations.
And that matters.
The effects studied with one strain or combination cannot automatically be assumed for another.
So instead of only asking, “How many billion CFU does it contain?” also consider:
• Which microorganism and strain?
• What has that specific strain been studied for?
• What dose was studied?
• Is it appropriate for the individual’s condition?
Probiotics are an interesting area of gut-health research, but they should not be treated as one universal solution for bloating, IBS, immunity, skin, mood and weight.
Specific product. Specific strain. Specific clinical context.
Save this before choosing your next probiotic, and discuss persistent digestive symptoms with your healthcare professional.
