弟弟脐带血成救命稻草
15岁少女重获新生

一名来自贫困家庭、患有严重疾病的中国15岁女孩，在接受由她新生弟弟提供的移植后，身体正慢慢康复。她的家人也感谢社会上善心人士的现金捐助。
来自中国广东省的小燕（Xiaoyan）目前身高只有140厘米，体重仅25公斤，大约只有健康青少年的一半。
她在出生三个月时被诊断患有“地中海贫血”（thalassemia），这是一种遗传性血液疾病。
她的父亲是一名建筑工人，母亲则没有工作。由于经济困难，他们过去除了定期输血之外，并没有为她安排正规的治疗。直到2018年，小燕的脾脏严重肿大，需要进行切除手术后，她才受到媒体关注，并开始获得更完善的治疗。
医生建议家人可以：
从干细胞资料库寻找合适配对者，或
再生一个孩子，并使用新生儿的脐带血进行治疗。
脐带血是造血干细胞的重要来源。
它是在婴儿出生后，从脐带和胎盘中收集而来，被认为对治疗亲属之间的血液疾病特别有帮助，甚至未来也可能用于治疗宝宝本身的疾病。
在中国，越来越多父母开始考虑保存或捐赠新生儿的脐带血，作为一种“生命备用资源”。
目前中国共有7家官方脐带血库。
根据2025年11月的官方统计，这7家血库已储存接近250万份脐带血，其中约4万5千份已用于医疗治疗。
保存脐带血20年的费用大约为2万元人民币（约3000美元）。有些家长认为费用负担较重，因此更愿意选择免费捐赠脐带血。在小燕的案例中，她当时其实已有一个一岁的弟弟，但父母并没有保存弟弟的脐带血。
小燕一家生活贫困。父亲是家里唯一的经济支柱，却因工作受伤，而祖父母也都患有慢性疾病。
懂事的小燕甚至曾发短信给母亲，说自己不想接受移植，因为“我们家没什么钱”。
由于无法负担费用高昂的非亲属造血干细胞捐赠治疗，而使用兄弟姐妹脐带血的费用则便宜得多，她的父母最终决定再生一个孩子。
2021年，小燕最小的弟弟出生了。他的血液与小燕有一半匹配，医生表示这已经足够进行移植。
为了让移植顺利进行，小燕必须接受治疗，清除体内过量的铁质。
到了2025年，小燕的身体终于适合接受手术。在热心人士的经济捐助下，她于2026年4月免费接受了移植手术。
医生表示她恢复情况良好，造血功能正在逐渐重建。
