Rawatan segera dalam 4.5 jam pertama boleh menyelamatkan nyawa dan cegah kecacatan. Cegah strok dengan pemakan sihat, bersenam, dan elakkan rokok serta alkohol dan mengawal risiko strok terutama darah tinggi dan kencing manis.

"🎉 World Stroke Day at Hospital Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah UPM 🎉

We’re excited to celebrate World Stroke Day and our recognition as an Advanced Stroke Center by the World Stroke Organization (WSO)! 🏥💙

Hospital Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah (HSAAS) received the Advanced Stroke Center certification from the World Stroke Organization (WSO), making it one of the first hospitals in Southeast Asia to earn this recognition. Alongside HSAAS, other certified centers include Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM) at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and Rumah Sakit Pusat Otak Nasional (RSPON) in Jakarta. These centers meet high standards for stroke care, covering advanced treatment, specialized teams, and comprehensive recovery support.

A huge thank you to Dato’ Indera Dr. Nor Azimi Yunus, Deputy Director General of Health Malaysia and Dr Sapiah Sapuan Head of Neurology Service MOH, for officiating the event today. Their presence highlights how critical stroke care is becoming in Malaysia. With stroke being the 3rd leading cause of death in our country, we hope this recognition helps elevate the importance of stroke care and ensures it gets the priority it truly deserves.

💡 Remember: Every second counts during a stroke. Knowing the signs can save lives. Use the B.E.F.A.S.T. rule to recognize the symptoms of a stroke:

B – Balance: Sudden loss of balance or coordination

E – Eyes: Blurred or double vision, or sudden vision loss

F – Face: Drooping on one side of the face

A – Arms: Weakness or numbness in one arm

S – Speech: Slurred or confused speech

T – Time: Time to call emergency services immediately!
