This is an important conversation for Namibia.
We speak so much about protecting mothers during pregnancy and birth, but that care cannot end when the baby is born.
Postpartum depression and postpartum psychosis are serious maternal health conditions that deserve recognition, appropriate care and clear pathways for support — not silence, shame or dismissal.
A healthy baby should never mean we stop asking how the mother is doing.
