Yin Yoga is a more modern kind of yoga and represents qualities such as being slow, still, cool, soft, and inward. Itβs the opposite of βYangβ which is active, strong, and dynamic.
Yin Yoga reflects those qualities by long-held, passive poses, done on a βcoolβ body (I.e. there is no βwarm-upβ).
The practise is done by holding passive poses for longer periods of time, usually 3-5 minutes.
The poses are soft and gentle and truly relaxing to be in. Youβll stroll out of that Shala super rested, relaxed, and maybe even a little bit sleepy π΄
