THE CHILD YOU ARE RAISING IS SOMEONE'S FUTURE.
Picture this:
A little child comes running to you with another question.
Again!!!!
The same question you have answered four times already.
Maybe you smile.
Maybe you sigh.
Maybe you say, βI have told you this before naβ
But pause for a moment, just chill
THAT LITTLE CHILD IS SOMEONE'S FUTURE OO
The teenager who seems distracted? Is someone's future.
The child who struggles academically? Is someone's future.
The quiet one sitting at the back? Is someone's future.
The child who keeps getting into trouble? Is someone's future.
Children are not merely people we are trying to get through childhood.
They are people who will one day influence homes, schools, businesses, communities, churches, institutions and nations.
The Bible says:
βLike arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one's youth.β β Psalm 127:4
An arrow doesn't become useful simply because it looks beautiful.
It needs to be shaped, sharped, straightened, strengthened, guided.
And eventually released in the right direction. πΉ
That is part of our responsibility with children.
Not just feeding them.
Not just clothing them.
Not just paying school fees.
But helping them develop character, wisdom, confidence, skills, faith and a sense of purpose.
Because one day, we will hand over something to the generation coming after us.
So, WHAT ARE WE PREPARING THEM TO CARRY?
Are we raising children who know their worth?
Children who can think, make wise decisions, treat people well, know God and understand that their lives can make a difference?
We may not know exactly what every child will become.
But we can help create the environment that gives them a better chance to become who they were created to be.
So this Sunday, let's remember this:
CHILDREN ARE NOT JUST OUR RESPONSIBILITY FOR TODAY.
THEY ARE PART OF THE FUTURE WE ARE BUILDING.
And every arrow deserves to be prepared well. πΉ
May the lord help us to raise children with wisdom, character, courage and purpose, and make us adults who will never underestimate what he can do through a child π Amen.
π¬ LET'S TALK:
If you have a child, teach a child, mentor a child, or simply have influence over a child's life, what is one thing you are intentionally trying to build in them?
Character? Confidence? Faith? Wisdom? Purpose?
