It's my pastor's birthday...
I really don't know what to write because there's a lot to put down here, and words are not enough to express how I feel.
Okay, I met Pastor Steve last year at the Encounter in Anyigba, and that was how my journey in SF began. The teaching that day was so powerful that I haven't recovered from it, even till today.
I got to connect with him through Pastor Taiye, and his response was simple. So I called him one of those days again, and he called me by my name. I was surprised. In my mind, I was like, "I thought this big man doesn't save people's numbers oo 😁"
Fast forward to this moment: I must say that I've never met an intentional man like Pastor Steve. Regardless of the thousands of people he pastors, he knows his members by name.
Papa, thank you for being a covering over my head—a father, mentor, teacher, pastor, and more. Sometimes I really wish I met you earlier, but even though I met you barely just a year ago, I must confess that I've enjoyed speed.
You are a man filled with wisdom. You teach everybody every day, but you've never run out of words—not for once. One amazing thing about your teaching is that you will always teach about that burden you are carrying, and you will be like, "How did he know what my burden is?"
There's more to say, but my words are not enough.
Should we talk about the skills I learned that were fully sponsored and funded by him? Survey, graphic design.
Thank you for showing me the path of truth, light, and faith.
Thank you for your daily wise counsel. A day without hearing from your teaching is a boring and almost incomplete day.
Everything you do fuels me to keep holding on.
It's a privilege to be under your covering, and I never take it for granted, Sir.
Happy birthday.
I love you papa. 😍
