*𝕋𝕙𝕖 𝕄𝔼𝕊𝕊𝔸𝔾𝔼:*
Preparation is a vital tool for success in life. In every endeavour of life, we must take the initial step of planning which starts with preparation. It is within this context that the picture of what is to be done, how to get it done and the means of getting it done is put in place. Without adequate preparation and planning a person is prepared to fail. The same applies to our heavenly race as Christians. The Bible tells us that we are in this world but we are not of this world. This is a reminder that we have a final destination in eternity. The desire of God for His children is that we all end up in His bossom as one big family, to start a new life with Him. However, to get there we need to prepare. Beloved, are you prepared?

Today's text reveals to us the benefits and consequences of preparation. Jesus Himself taught this parable to his disciples. It is a fact that the ten were virgins; all have their lamps, perhaps dressed in the same way, with the same purpose-to meet the bridegroom. Again, they all slept off but woke up suddenly at midnight to trim their lamps. Here comes the difference; the five wise virgins are well prepared, but the five foolish ones had not enough oil in their lamps.

What a calamity? Too late! There was nowhere to buy the oil at such hour of the night. They resulted to borrowing from their mates (v8-9), but they also couldn't give them so that they will not both run short of oil. But "while they went to buy", Alas! The bridegroom arrived and the door was shut behind them. A great lesson to learn! The non-preparedness of the five foolish virgins caused them an irreparable damage. They missed the bridegroom they had been waiting for. They were not adequately prepared or perhaps underestimated his arrival. Why should anyone fall into such error? No excuse beloved! Keep the fire burning on your altar of prayer. Let the lamp of your life burn until the Master comes! Let your oil be enough and overflowing. Remember, no one knows when the Bridegroom is coming, but certainly, He is coming and will come suddenly! Get prepared; remain prepared therefore, so that you don't miss him!

𝕋𝕙𝕖 𝕄𝔼𝕊𝕊𝔸𝔾𝔼:
Beloved, I want to ask you a very important question, and I want you to meditate on it throughout today. Do you know God's agenda (plan) for your life? Let me give you a clue: what is the secret that God can only give the world through you? What is that contribution that God is depending on you to make to your generation and posterity? Carnality, foundation, societal circumstances beyond our control are some of the factors that can cause diversions in a man's journey to God's agenda for his life.

God's plan for Moses' life was for him to take the children of Israel out of slavery and to the Promised Land, in preparation for the Saviour. Circumstances would have permanently truncated this, but for God's determination. Abraham was meant to be the person in whom all mankind would be blessed, through a promised child. Carnality made Abraham divert to have a child outside God's agenda. God planned that Adam and Eve would subdue and populate the earth with the human race to dominate the earth hitherto dominated by darkness. Disobedience would have permanently truncated this plan, but for the mercy of God, involving the Lamb.

How wonderful that Jesus Christ came to the earth, led the way on how to put an end to satanic diversions (the victory of 40 days in the wilderness) and fulfil God's plan (the victory on the cross). Jesus thus left a blueprint for destiny fulfilment that ensures that man no longer has the excuse of circumstances beyond his control.

What is this blueprint?

*Matthew 6:33- Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all other things shall be added unto you.

This means: understand that the kingdom of God is first and foremost in your heart. Give your heart to Him. Recognize your inadequacy and put Him in total control of your affairs. Pray at all times, for all reasons and for all things, letting your prayer sessions make room for hearing from Him. Trust Him, no matter the situation around you. Rest assured that He will never leave you in the dark.

𝕋𝕙𝕖 𝕄𝔼𝕊𝕊𝔸𝔾𝔼:
We are in the era of jet age when the world at large want everything to be done speedily, a time that the word "waiting" is foreign to so many people who want fast food, fast train, fast car, fast money, fast miracles, fast solution etc.

One of the Christian virtues that is diminishing in the lives of Christians nowadays is patience. Yet, the Bible says only those who wait upon the Lord will renew their strength. Anything hurriedly got outside God will always lead to regret, woe and destruction. Waiting patiently in God is a major virtue God expects all His children to possess. You should know that God never comes too late. When Lazarus was sick, Jesus did not visit him until he died. He appeared when all hope was lost. If many had waited on God for a particular thing they needed, they won't be in the mess they are today. Esau could have waited a little to prepare his own food, but he chose not. So, he sold his birthright to Jacob hurriedly because of food. Later, he sought it with tears, but it was too late.

Many have failed the test of waiting at the junction of marriage, business, child bearing, career, ministry and so on, forgetting the fact that the Bible says "Faithful is He that has promised and He will do it." They felt they had been denied of their expectation by God and that God was too slow. Hence, they went for fast alternatives, which ruined them.

God is faithful to His words; His ways are not our ways. He always does His own thing in his own way at His own right time. Abraham waited for God's promises until it was fulfilled, the Bible says "Though it tarries, wait for it, because it will surely come, it will not tarry." Abraham believed against hope. His case was hopeless, yet he waited on God and he got the promise (Romans 4:17). You must disregard the voice of discouragement and wait upon the Lord like the Psalmist in Psalm 40:1. God's plan is always the best. Sometimes, the process is painful and hard but don't forget that when God is silent, He is doing something for you.
