HSG PROCEDURE (HYSTEROSALPINGOGRAPHY)

What is HSG?
HSG means Hysterosalpingography.

It is a special X-ray procedure used to examine the inside of the uterus and check whether the fallopian tubes are open.

It is commonly requested for women who are having difficulty getting pregnant.

A dye is injected into the uterus, through the va**na.
Now, here's the interesting part:

If the Dye passes through the fallopian tubes and Leakes out from the Fimbrea of the fallopian tube, THEN IT SHOWS THAT YOUR TUBES ARE PATENT(OPEN)..... But, If it doesn't LEAK OUT, it simply means that your TUBES ARE BLOCKED.

IVF PROCEDURE IN A GLIMPSE.......

See how carefully the already fertilised egg(embryo), is carefully deposited in the uterus.

If implantation occurs, the client would test POSITIVE....🥳💃

But if it doesn't implant, that's when you'd hear them say "THE IVF FAILED".....😭😭

This journey is not a walk-in-the-park, as there are lots and lots of lab investigations and treatments involved before the MAIN procedure...

🛑A NUCHAL CORD:
“THE CORD IS ROUND MY BABY’S NECK!” 😰

Hearing that your baby has a nuchal cord, meaning the umbilical cord is looped around the baby’s neck.....can be frightening.

But mama, don’t panic immediately. ❤️

A nuchal cord is actually quite common during pregnancy. Babies move, turn and stretch inside the womb, and sometimes the cord naturally forms a loop around the neck.

Does it automatically mean the baby is in danger?
👉 No.

In many cases, the cord is loose and does not cause any problem. Your healthcare provider will monitor the baby’s wellbeing, especially the fetal heart rate and movements.

And here is something important:

A nuchal cord does NOT mean your baby must be delivered by Caesarean section.
The decision about mode of delivery depends on the overall condition of the mother and baby and not simply on the presence of a cord around the neck.

During labour, continuous or regular fetal heart-rate monitoring may be used when indicated. If the baby shows signs of distress, the healthcare team will respond appropriately.

So if your scan says:

“Nuchal cord noted.”

Take a breath. ❤️

Ask questions.
Attend your antenatal appointments.
Pay attention to your baby’s usual movements, and
Report any significant reduction in movement promptly.

A cord around the neck is a finding, not automatically a disaster.

Every pregnancy deserves careful monitoring, not unnecessary fear.
