“DO I REALLY NEED IVF?”

Have you been trying to conceive and someone has already told you:

“Just go for IVF.”

Before you start looking for millions of naira, pause and ask:

WHY IS IVF BEING RECOMMENDED FOR ME?

IVF can be an important treatment option, but it isn't automatically the right first step for everyone.

Your age, how long you've been trying, ovulation, your fallopian tubes, s***m factors and your medical history can all be part of the assessment.

So don't be afraid to ask your doctor:

“Why is IVF the best option for me right now?”

And:

“Are there other options I should consider?”

You deserve to understand why you're paying for a treatment, not just how much it costs.

This is Day 5 of my 100 Days, 100 Questions, 100 Honest Answers challenge.

For the next 95 days, I'll keep answering the real fertility questions people are searching for and asking privately.

Follow Journey to Parenthood Consult and follow the challenge.

And tell me in the comments:

DAY 2/100 | MY IVF FAILED. DOES THAT MEAN IT'S OVER?
A failed IVF cycle can leave you with more questions than answers.
“What went wrong?”
“Was it my eggs?”
“Was it the embryo?”
“Should I try again?”
“Can it still work?”
Please don't automatically blame yourself.

Before making another major financial decision, have a proper conversation with your fertility team about what happened during the previous cycle and what, if anything, should be reviewed.

DAY 1/100 | 100 DAYS. 100 QUESTIONS. 100 HONEST ANSWERS.

It's an important question.
But there's another question you need to ask:
“What exactly am I paying for?”
Before you make that payment, ask:

100 DAYS. 100 QUESTIONS. 100 HONEST ANSWERS.

For the next 100 days, Journey to Parenthood Consult is taking on a challenge.

Every day, we'll answer one real question around:

IVF | Infertility | Donor Eggs | S***m Donation | Surrogacy | Third-Party Reproduction

Not complicated medical language.

Not unrealistic promises.

Not information designed to frighten you into making a decision.

Just simple explanations to the questions people are already asking, searching for and sometimes too afraid to ask out loud.

Questions like:

How much does IVF really cost in Nigeria?

Why can my IVF bill become higher than the original quotation?

What should I ask before paying for IVF?

What happens after a failed IVF cycle?

What does low AMH actually mean?

When should donor eggs be considered?

Who is surrogacy actually for?

How does surrogacy work in Nigeria?

How do I know what to check before sending money?

For 100 days, we'll break these questions down in a way that is simple, practical and easy to understand.

Because fertility treatment is already emotionally difficult.

Understanding your options shouldn't have to be.

OUR GOAL

To help you pause, understand, ask better questions and make more informed decisions before committing your money, your body or your hopes.

This is not about promising you a baby.

It's about making sure you are better informed before taking the next step.

100 DAYS STARTS SOON.

Follow Journey to Parenthood Consult and turn on your notifications.

And if there is a fertility question you've been searching for but still haven't found a clear answer to, drop it in the comments.

It may become one of our 100 questions.
