It's a new week and here are 5 ways to prevent slipping into depression this week
Depression hates it when u do these small annoying things. so do them anyway
1. Feed yourself like you’d feed a sick pet
Depression kills appetite or makes you live on chips + regret. Don’t.
Rule: Protein + color at least twice a day. Eggs + berries. Yogurt + banana. Rotisserie chicken + anything green. Your brain is an organ. It needs fuel to fight.
2. Do a 5-minute “chaos reset”
Depression turns your space into a visual panic attack. And messy room = messy brain.
Set a timer for 5 mins. Not clean. Just reset. Clear one surface. Make the bed. Take dishes to sink. Stop when it dings. You’re not failing at cleaning, you’re interrupting the spiral.
3. Talk to someone even for 2 mins
Isolation is depression’s bestie. Break them up.
Cashier, coworker, barista, FaceTime ur mom. Doesn’t have to be deep. Just remind your brain people exist and you’re one of them.
4. Move your body to change your mood
You can’t think your way out of a funk if your body’s in shutdown.
Walk to the mailbox. Stretch while Netflix loads. Dance to one song badly. Motion = emotion. It’s science.
5. Schedule one “worth-it” thing
Depression deletes joy from your calendar. Put it back by force.
Coffee with a friend Wednesday. 20 mins to game/read/draw Friday. If it’s not scheduled, the blob wins. Defend your joy like it’s your job.
