What transpired in the recently concluded governorship election in Osun State is a powerful message and a clear reminder that real political power ultimately belongs to the people.
The people of Osun stood their ground and insisted that their mandate must not be taken away from them. Despite intimidation, harassment, bullying and attempts to undermine their will, they remained resolute and backed that choice with their votes, ultimately coasting to victory.
The same story can be written if you can vote & protect the votes until it's count
This is no longer just about party supremacy. It is about the people’s choice. In this era, majority of the people are becoming less concerned about party labels and more interested in the capacity, competence, character and credibility of the individual candidate. Party platforms may provide the vehicle, but it is the people who decide who ultimately drives it.
Osun has sent a strong signal TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN.I.E VOTERS SHOULD VOTES AND ALSO PROTECT THEIR VOTES UNTIL IT COUNTS. You can manipulate a process, but you cannot permanently manipulate the will of the people. As the saying goes “you can force a horse to the river, but you cannot force it to drink the water”.
IN GOD WE MUST TRUST.
