Blood and oxygen flow to the brain are interrupted and brain cells begin to die.

I recently stumbled on a Cigarette pack with this inscription on it.👇

' Smokers will likely have Lung Cancer '

I was surprised because it sounds more definitive than ' Smokers are liable to die young '

Ci******es contain over 4000 toxic chemicals, about 69 of which are proven to cause cancer.

Ni****ne is one of the main ingredients in a cigarette and it is highly addictive.

Let me put it straight to you 👇

🔸Smokers have about four times higher risk of developing mouth cancer than non-smokers.
🔹Smoking stains your teeth and gums.
🔸Smoking raises blood pressure - a risk factor for heart attacks and stroke.
🔹Smoking makes one sense of taste and smell dull.
🔸Smokers age quicker than non-smokers
🔹Smoking also affects your looks (more wrinkles and paler skin).

I encourage you to quit smoking.
By doing this, foods and drinks will taste and smell much better and if you already have a heart or lung disease your prognosis is much improved.

Also, people exposed to second-hand smoke face the same dangers as smokers themselves.

I hope you also don't expose yourself to these dangers as a second-hand/passive smoker.

If "yes", I want to inform you that you may be causing harm to your teeth and gums.

Brushing your teeth aggressively can

✴irritate your gums,
❇cause gums recession,
✴erode tooth enamel, and
❇lead to tooth sensitivity.

To prevent brushing too hard

✅choose a toothbrush with medium bristles (not hard) and
☑make sure to replace your toothbrush every 3 months or when bristles show signs of wear.

Sometimes we get the urge to urinate but we find ourselves in places and situations where we need to hold our urine.

It’s not bad to hold it for a few minutes until you get to the bathroom.

However, if you wait too long, the aftermath can be unpleasant and even harmful.

Holding your urine for too long can weaken the bladder muscles over time.

This can lead to problems such as incontinence and the inability to fully empty your bladder.

Holding your urine for extremely long periods can also cause urinary tract infections due to bacteria build-up.

In addition, it can heighten your risk of kidney disease and in a few cases even risk your bladder bursting(a condition that can be deadly).

Amazingly, it is increasingly becoming difficult for many people to do away with their phones when going to the restroom.

We end up spending a lot of time sitting on the toilet surfing through our phones, playing games or reading books.

However, medical experts have warned that no one should spend more than 10 minutes in the toilet. In fact, the lesser the better.

It is not unusual that you might be experiencing stress from the demands and pressures you undergo each day.

When worries and anxiety become excessive, there is a possibility that it will trigger the stress response leading to a host of health problems.

This response causes the body to release stress hormones such as cortisol.

The hormones also cause physical reactions such as:

Fatigue

Nausea

Sweating

Dizziness

Dry mouth

Headaches

Muscle aches

Fast heartbeat

Rapid breathing

Inability to concentrate

Chronic anxiety and gush of stress hormones can have serious consequences, including:

Suppression of the immune system

Premature coronary artery disease

Short-term memory loss

Digestive disorders

Muscle tension

Heart attack

If excessive worrying and high anxiety go untreated, they can lead to depression and even suicidal thoughts.

😭I have been left in awe by one of the so-called marketing strategies employed by manufacturers of some medications, especially traditional medicines.

Often, they are quick to reel out countless numbers of diseases that one particular pill is used for. Hmmm🤔

Imagine a single pill that could lower not only blood pressure but also blood sugar, cure Stroke, Arthritis, STIs, Peptic Ulcer disease and cancers all at the same time😀

Maybe we should refer to such meds as PolyPills (Gbogbonise). I keep wondering how these medicines could exert the same effect on different medical conditions.

📍In a quest for staying healthy, be careful of the so-called meds you consume. Do not self-medicate.

Remember, that "every medication is a poison, it is a matter of dose".

💥Supplements can never be a substitute for a healthy diet.

I have come across several people who cannot do without the daily intake of multivitamin-multimineral supplements.

In times past, researchers reported that Multivitamins did little or nothing to protect against mental decline, cancers, cardiovascular disease, or death.

A study reported that on average, women who took supplements had an increased risk of dying compared with women who didn’t take supplements.🤔

However, more recent studies found that taking multivitamins was beneficial. Since it helped prevent micronutrient shortfalls that might otherwise cause health problems.

Prenatal vitamins with folic acid are often recommended for women of childbearing age to help prevent birth defects.

Multivitamins might also be prescribed by your doctor if you have malabsorption syndrome, a condition in which the body does not properly absorb vitamins and minerals.

It is advisable to eat a healthy diet, maintain a healthy weight, and reduce the amount of saturated fat, trans fat, sodium and sugar you eat.
