The official handing over of the brand new, "tear-rubber", new chassis 15-seater bus to the Vice Chancellor, University of Benin ably represented by the Deputy VC (Academic), Prof. Izekor who in turn handed over the bus to the Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. M.U Uhumwangho.

The patrons, board of trustees and executive of the alumni association wish to appreciate all our members worldwide for their generous contributions that enabled us to purchase the bus.

The second phase of the project is the foundation laying of the pharmacy students hostels. We wish to use this medium to encourage various classes and members that are yet to contribute to kindly do so in order for us to provide a good hostel accommodation to our beloved students who most times never get a bed space in the limited hostels in the University. This will no doubt boost their academic performance significantly.

It is our prayers that God will continue to bless our members round about and grant all your heart desires in His infinite mercies, 🙏🙏.

A big thank you to all those who took out time off their busy schedule to attend the *GOLDEN JUBILEE ANNIVERSARY LECTURE of UNIBEN Faculty of Pharmacy Alumni via WEBINAR*. You all made it possible.

Special thanks goes to the Vice-Chancellor of the Great University of Benin, Prof L. I Salami, who graced the occasion in person.

We also want to thank the registrar Pharmacist Council of Nigeria, Pharm (Dr) Elijah Mohammad and the guest lecturer Sir (Pharm.) Paul Enebeli for doing justice to the theme of the lecture- *Alumni Networking: Harnessing its Potentials*. We also want to thank the great professors of UNIBEN Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Augustine Okhamafe, Prof. John Akerele, Prof. Cyril Usifoh, Director of SERVICOM, UNIBEN: Prof. Ray Ozolua, Prof. Azuka Opara, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy: Prof. Michael Uhumwangho, the Dean of Students: Prof. Patrick Igbinaduwa and the Director of Alumni Relations, University of Benin: Dr Obeki Obeki who also attended the webinar.

UPDATE FROM THE PRESIDENT'S DESK.

My beloved Alumni members. I am pleased to bring you updates on progress and concerns relating to our golden jubilee celebration. A high powered committee with specialized sub committees have been set up and a lot has been achieved so far. It is however pertinent to know that the following landmarks have been achieved.
1. The University authority has given her approval and go ahead for us to mark the jubilee anniversary.
2. Architectural drawing for the Pharmacy student hostel has been given and approved.
3. The Class governors/captains forum has been set up and has been very active.
4. Levies has been assigned to year groups to contribute towards the event and capital projects and I am glad to report that some class groups have already redeemed their share.
5. The dates for the event has been fixed for August 6th to 9th and these dates have been approved by the University authority.
6. Corporate letters of sponsorship has been prepared and will soon be distributed to every class for distribution to relevant corporate entities.
7. On the 2nd of March 2020, the University authority has presented the site for the hostel project to the dean of the faculty and she awaits the commencement of the project.

I also wish to bring to our notice that concerns and feedbacks from members in Nigeria and in the diaspora have been received and I want to assure all that the Exco and Jubilee committee will be responsible, accountable and always open to new ideas.

I wish to encourage all of us to continue to support our collective efforts to help create a better pharmacy education in UNIBEN that will graduate a more technical and professional set of pharmacists.
Congratulations to us and our faculty for reaching a golden age.
