Probiotics & the Gut‑Microbiome
Do you know About 70% of your immune system lives in your gut, housed in the trillions of bacteria that make up your gut microbiome?

When this balance is disrupted, immunity and digestion can suffer.

Why do probiotics matter:
Probiotics are live beneficial bacteria that help restore and maintain a healthy gut flora.
They support:
- Immune function (more immune cells in the gut than anywhere else).
- Digestive balance &
- Offer protection against harmful bacteria.

Antibiotics kill harmful bacteria—but they also kill good gut bacteria.
After a course of antibiotics, many people experience:
Diarrhoea, bloating, gas, or abdominal discomfort.

Taking probiotics (timed appropriately with antibiotics) can help:
- Restore gut flora.
- Reduce antibiotic‑associated diarrhoea.
- Support immune recovery.

At WryteCare, we see probiotics as a strategic supplement, not just a “gut fix.”
We help you choose the right strain, dose, and timing—especially after antibiotics or during digestive issues.

What do you know about ADR? (Adverse Drug Reaction)

Many patients stop important medicines because they confuse a manageable side effect with a true allergy.
At WryteCare, we teach you how to tell the difference and keep treatment safe and effective.

Allergy vs. side effect:
Allergy (true ADR):
Immune‑mediated reaction.
Often includes: rash with itching, swelling (face, lips, tongue), wheezing, trouble breathing, or sudden drop in energy.
Requires immediate medical attention and avoidance of that drug class.
Side effect (non‑allergic ADR):
Expected, often mild, and usually manageable.
Examples: nausea, dizziness, mild stomach upset, drowsiness.
Can often be reduced without stopping the medication

How to manage common side effects:
Nausea:
- Take the medicine with food unless specifically instructed to take it on an empty stomach.
- Sip water, chew gum, or try small, frequent meals.
- Ask our pharmacists about anti‑nausea options if it persists.

Dizziness:
- Rise slowly from sitting or lying positions.
- Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how the drug affects you.
- Review other medications and alcohol that may worsen dizziness.

At WryteCare, we counsel proactively so you know what to expect, what’s normal, and when to seek help—so you don’t stop a life‑saving drug unnecessarily.

Know your side effects. Don’t just buy your meds.

Send us a DM to speak with our pharmacist before you stop or change your dose.

let's talk Diagnostics: Malaria Diagnostics
Malaria is a serious illness—but it should not be guessed.
Treating “malaria” based on a headache or fever alone can lead to over‑treatment, missed diagnoses, and avoidable complications.

The gold standard for confirming malaria parasites and species is Microscopy (blood film
Rapid Diagnostic Tests (RDTs) can also be used to detect malaria antigens quickly at the point of care.
These are Useful for screening but should be interpreted alongside clinical findings and, where possible, microscopy.

Fever and headache occur in many conditions: viral infections, typhoid, urinary tract infections, meningitis, and even non‑infectious causes that's why you should never “presume” malaria from a headache.

Over‑treating with antimalarials when malaria is not present
- Wastes drugs and money.
Masks the real cause of illness.
Contributes to drug resistance and delayed correct treatment.

So to recap,
Any fever should be investigated, not assumed.
A diagnostic test (microscopy and/or RDT) should come before antimalarial therapy, unless in very specific emergency‑only settings.
Persistent or recurrent fever after “malaria treatment” is a red flag—it often means the patient has another illness or complicated malaria.

At WryteCare, we support test‑based treatment, not guesswork.
We partner with certified laboratories to offer diagnostic so you treat the right condition with the right prescription at the right time.
Diagnose first. Treat intentionally.

The WryteCare Difference – Value Over Cost

Happy New Week Wrytecare fam,
Do you know that in healthcare, the cheapest drug is often not the cheapest choice?

The “cost of ignorance” can be a failed treatment, worsening illness, or even hospitalization.

Here are key points this week:
- Buying the cheapest option without professional advice can mean:
- Wrong drug or dose
- No effect—or side effects
- Delayed proper care and higher total cost

The most valuable part of any purchase is professional advice:
- Is this medicine right for your condition?
- Is the dose correct and safe with other drugs?
- When should you see a doctor instead?

At WryteCare, we don’t just want to sell medicines—we add value through education, checking interactions, and watching for red flags, so you pay less in the long run.

Value over cost. Care over convenience.

Send us a DM for a consultation before you buy.

Stopping antibiotics early doesn’t “save” them.
It lets the strongest bacteria survive and get stronger—hello, Superbugs.

Here's a few tips to note about medications

✅ Finish your course as prescribed.
✅ Never share or reuse antibiotics.
✅ Don’t pressure your doctor for “just a quick antibiotic."
Because one short course today can change how every infection is treated tomorrow.

Here at WryteCare, we don’t just dispense antibiotics—we educate, monitor use, and promote responsible stewardship so these life‑saving drugs continue to work for everyone.

Taking a pill is step one.

The real goal?
Lower BP
Clear infection
Stable sugars

At WryteCare, we don’t just give meds—we track, educate, and adjust therapy so you actually reach your health goals.

Bring your script. Leave with a plan.

18/05/2026

Many people think “treatment” ends when the pill is taken.
But true therapy is measured by outcomes, not just adherence:
Did your blood pressure actually drop?

Did the infection clear, or symptoms improve?

Are your blood sugars consistently in range?

That’s The WryteCare Difference:
We don’t just dispense prescriptions.
We educate, monitor, and support you through follow‑ups.

We help you understand why you take each medicine and what success looks like for your condition.

Here are 2 Key points to note week:
1. Taking the pill is step one, not the finish line.
2. Follow‑up care (monitoring, counselling, dose review) ensures you reach your health goals.

At WryteCare, we work to track your progress so your therapy delivers real clinical results, not just “I took the drugs.”

📲 DM us to discuss your therapy and outcomes.

When a patient takes multiple medicines, the risk of harmful drug interactions can rise, especially when prescriptions, over-the-counter drugs, and supplements are not reviewed together. That is where the pharmacist steps in.

At WryteCare Pharmacy, we help identify contraindications, flag dangerous interactions, and support safe medication use before harm happens.

Our patient safety protocols are designed to catch issues that patients — and even multiple doctors — may miss .

Because prevention is not only about treating illness.
It is also about protecting patients from avoidable medication risks.
