23/03/2026
It's World Optometry Week 2026.
Optometrists celebrate their contributions to Global Eye Care every 23rd March. On this day we appreciate the great work Optometrist do to make eye care accessible to the population thereby improving overall health, productivity and social interactions.
Optometry is continuously evolving. As an educated, autonomous, regulated eye care profession, new horizons of patient care have opened in eye disease management to systemic health concerns with eye health implications. Optometrists are specialising in gene therapy, laser surgical skills, pharmacological therapeutic, dry eye management, and glaucoma management etc etc.
As we continue to evolve the need for collaborative effort cannot be overemphadized.
It is therefore no wonder that this year's theme is:
A Shared Vision: Collaboration in Global Eye Care.
Celebrate your Optometrist. They are doing a great job taking care of your eye health.
