Sometimes it is good to listen to your pain instead of masking it with strong pain killer
Taking pain medication around the clock may seem helpful, but it can actually slow your recovery. When you suppress pain completely, you lose a vital signal.
Your brain no longer knows which movements aggravate your injury and which are safe.
Pain is information. If you feel a sharp twinge when you twist, you learn to avoid that movement. If you feel a dull ache after walking 10 minutes, you know where your current limit is. This feedback guides your physiotherapist and helps you pace your activities.
Using medication occasionally to enable gentle exercise is fine.
But taking it all day, every day, hides the very data you need to recover.
You may unknowingly overload healing tissues, causing a flare‑up that sets you back weeks.
Let your pain be a teacher – not an enemy. Use medication wisely, not constantly.
