Chinyere Rosemary, 27, a biochemistry graduate, event planner and makeup artist, has reportedly died following an alleged áttâck at her boyfriend’s residence in Enugu.

According to reports, Chinyere was at the home of her boyfriend, 30-year-old Emmanuel Okpara, on September 19, 2026, when an argument reportedly broke out during the night.

It is alleged that Emmanuel attãckêd her with a pestle and mãchēte, causing severe injuries. Her body was reportedly wrapped in a plastic bag and hidden inside the toilet.

Reports further allege that he destroyed her phone in an attempt to prevent anyone from tracing her whereabouts.

The situation reportedly came to light after neighbours noticed a strong odour coming from the apartment and contacted the police.

Emmanuel was subsequently reported to have been arrested.

Chinyere’s family is now calling for justice and a full investigation into her death. 💔

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 35-year-old woman, Hauwa’u Haruna for the alleged m8rder of her co-wife, Jamila Adamu.

The spokesperson for the command, SP Nafiu Habib, who disclosed this in a statement on Monday, September 28, 2026 said the incident occurred during a domestic dispute at Tafawa Balewa Housing Estate on Sunday.

According to the PPRO, Hauwa’u, allegedly acting under hallucinations, armed herself with a pestle and struck Jamila on the forehead.

Upon receiving information about the domestic incident, detectives attached to the C-Division immediately mobilised to the scene.

The victim was rushed to the Specialist Hospital, Bauchi, where she was certified d3ad by a medical doctor.

man arrested for k!lling girlfriend in Enugu.

The Enugu State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of Okpara Chibuike Emmanuel, a 30-year-old man over the alleged m&rder of his girlfriend, identified as Chinyere.

The suspect was rescued from an angry mob and re-arrested by Police operatives attached to Awkunanaw Division on September 21, 2026, at about 6:30 p.m., following information that he had allegedly m$rdered his girlfriend.

Preliminary investigation by the police indicates that the suspect allegedly k!lled the victim on September 19, wrapped her remains in a nylon and locked them inside the toilet of his apartment. The offensive odour of the decomposing body subsequently attracted neighbours, who forced the door open and apprehended him before the arrival of the Police. The putrefying remains were evacuated to a mortuary for preservation and autopsy, while efforts are ongoing to trace and notify her relatives.

During preliminary interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime, stating that the incident followed an argument between him and the deceased over allegations of who infected the other with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). He further told the police that, during the argument, he struck the deceased on the head with a pestle, resulting in her de@th, and subsequently wrapped and dumped her remains inside the toilet.

The state Commissioner of Police, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, has ordered the State CID to conduct a discreet and thorough investigation to establish the circumstances of the incident and ensure the suspect is arraigned in court upon conclusion of investigations.

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested a manager of Mbiokporo Cemetery in Uyo, Elijah Edet and one Nsikak Effiong for exhuming a freshly buried co**se and stealing the casket.

The spokesperson for the command, Timfon John, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, August 6, 2026.

According to the PPRO, the incident was uncovered on August 3 after a vigilant resident spotted two men transporting a casket on an unregistered motorcycle at night.

In an attempt to evade arrest, one of the suspects, identified as Effiong Asuquo, fled the scene, while his accomplice, Nsikak Effiong, was apprehended and immediately handed over to the police.

Effiong confessed that he and an accomplice, Asuquo, dug up the grave, removed the co**se, and stole the casket to sell it.

The stolen casket and motorcycle were recovered, while further investigations led to the arrest of cemetery manager Elijah Matthew Edet, who allegedly admitted to conspiring with the grave diggers.

A lawyer from South Africa who mourned his girlfriend on social media sentenced to life imprisonment for k!lling her and burning her body inside car

A South African attorney has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the m8rder of his girlfriend and burning her in her car in Johannesburg.

The South Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg sentenced Thubelihle Sbonakaliso Mpisi on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.

Mpisi was convicted of the m8rder of Mahlako Malebo Rabalao, as well as malicious injury to property and defeating the administration of justice.

Mpisi has been in custody since his arrest on July 28, 2023, after abandoning his bail application.

Mahlako Malebo Rabalao’s charred remains were found in her Mercedes-Benz on March 9, 2023, near her home in Midrand.

NPA spokesperson Magaboke Mohlatlole�said that during the trial, Senior State Advocate Michelle Bayat argued that although medical experts were unable to determine the exact cause of d3ath because of the extensive burning of the body, the evidence established beyond reasonable doubt that Rabalao had died before the fire was started.

The court accepted the State’s case, which relied on circumstantial evidence, including cellphone records, forensic evidence, expert testimony and Mpisi’s conduct before and after the incident.

Prosecutors successfully argued that Mpisi m8rdered Rabalao before setting her body and vehicle alight in an attempt to destroy evidence and conceal the crime.

Evidence before the court also revealed that the pair had been involved in an intimate relationship.

Rabalao had reportedly told relatives and friends that she intended ending the relationship and moving out of the home she shared with Mpisi before she was k!lled.

Rabalao, an IT specialist, was about to turn 27 when she was k!lled.

She was k!lled while planning to move out of an apartment she shared with Mpisi.

Mpisi, who was 30 at the time, was arrested in KwaZulu-Natal after four months of investigation.

Before his arrest, Mpisi went on social media to express his shock and pain at the d8ath of the mother of his three-year-old son.

A woman was rescued by a boat operator after she reportedly jumped into the lagoon from the Idumota-Carter Bridge in Lagos.

This incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon, August 4.

A video shared online shows the woman looking disoriented as she sat in the boat after being pulled out of the water.

Passersby who gathered on the bridge to look down at the woman are heard begging the boat man not to hand the woman over to the police.

Other voices on the bridge are heard questioning the woman's state of mind as they wondered what made her jump into the lagoon.

According to eyewitnesses, the woman was attempting to take her own life when local boat operators quickly responded and pulled her out of the water.
