Happy Children’s Day! 🎉

Today we celebrate the laughter, curiosity, and bright imaginations that make childhood so special. And just like we protect their dreams, we need to protect their vision too – because healthy eyes help them explore, learn, and play to the fullest.

Why children’s vision matters
Up to 80% of learning happens through sight. If a child can’t see clearly, it affects reading, writing, sports, and even confidence in class. Good vision care early on sets them up for a lifetime of learning and fun.

📌What adults should watch out for in children’s vision:

📌Squinting or sitting too close to the TV, book, or tablet – often a sign they’re straining to see.
📌Frequent eye rubbing, headaches, or tired eyes after reading or homework.
📌Covering one eye or tilting the head to focus better.
📌Avoiding reading, drawing, or close-up activities they used to enjoy.
📌Clumsiness or trouble catching a ball – depth perception issues can show up here.
📌Red, watery, or itchy eyes that don’t go away, or unusual light sensitivity.

📌How you can help
Book a full eye examination and yearly after that, even if there are no complaints. Kids often don’t know their vision is blurry!
Encourage the 20-20-20 rule for screen time: every 20 minutes, look 20 feet away for 20 seconds.
📌Make sure they play outdoors daily – natural light helps slow down short-sightedness.
📌Limit close-up screen time and make sure study areas are well-lit.
