Treating symptoms without understanding them.

Sometimes I hear:

“I've taken this drug before and it worked.”

And I understand why people think this way.

Something worked previously, so naturally, they want to repeat it.

But your body isn't a mathematical equation where the same symptom always means the same problem.

A headache can have different causes.

Abdominal pain can have different causes.

Fatigue can have different causes.

Urinary symptoms can have different causes.

That is why blindly treating every recurring symptom can become a problem.

Sometimes you need proper assessment.

Sometimes you need a test.

The goal isn't to panic about every symptom.

🗣️ Let me tell you something today:

Please, stop diagnosing yourself based on symptoms.

Many health conditions can look alike.

Someone may be vomiting because of typhoid, ulcer, pregnancy, an infection, or something completely different.

So because a young lady is vomiting, you conclude, “Ah! She’s pregnant.” My sister, it doesn’t work that way. 😂

This is where medical laboratory testing comes in.

Rather than assuming, guessing, or treating blindly, you need to find out what is actually happening in your body.

The pain of treating the wrong condition is avoidable.

Don’t guess your health. Test, know your status, treat right, and live fully.

Let's be honest with ourselves.

We Nigerians know how to find money for things we consider important.

Wedding contribution?

We will calculate.

Asoebi?

We will somehow manage.

Birthday owambe?

Someone travelling home?

“Let's support them.”

But when it comes to our health:
“Hmm… ₦3,500?”

Suddenly, we need to think about it. 😂

I am not saying celebrations are bad.

Please, enjoy your life.

But your health should also be part of your budget.

Because there is a painful irony in spending so much preparing for life while neglecting the body that is supposed to experience that life.
