We are pleased to spotlight the distinguished moderators for our March session!

1. Dr. Ifeoma Onyinye Nevobasi, MBBS, FWACS
Consultant Radiologist, University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital.

Dr. Nevobasi is an academic clinician with advanced expertise in MRI, Neuroradiology, and Emergency & Trauma Imaging. She earned a Master’s degree in Magnetic Resonance Imaging from University of Queensland as an Australia Awards Scholar, bringing a strong global perspective to imaging practice in resource-limited settings.

She is an active contributor to radiology education across Africa through the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) African Chapter and SMARTA, and was recently appointed a SMART Africa Global Youth Ambassador for her leadership in advancing equitable access to MRI, research, and capacity development.

2. Dr. Adaobi Chikasi Ilo, MBBS, FWACS
Consultant Radiologist, University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital.

Dr. Ilo is a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons with subspecialty expertise in oncologic imaging. She holds a Master’s degree in Oncologic Imaging from University of Pisa and is an award recipient of the Association of Radiation and Clinical Oncologists of Nigeria (ARCON) Seed Grant.

Her work spans breast imaging innovation, international research collaborations with MD Anderson Cancer Center and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and capacity building to improve cancer outcomes in LMICs.

Together, they represent excellence, scholarship, and a shared commitment to strengthening radiology practice across Africa.

Upon completion of both lectures, you will be able to:
1. Optimize ultrasound technique and patient positioning for breast and axillary lesions using available equipment.
2. Perform safe needle guidance and sampling in technically difficult cases, maintaining accurate lesion targeting.
3. Select and prioritize biopsy targets in complex breast and axillary cases to maximize diagnostic yield while minimizing patient risk.
4. Make safe procedural decisions in challenging or unexpected scenarios, including lesion collapse, poor visualization, or limited resources.
5. Identify indications for mammography and DBT-guided breast biopsy.
6. Explain how technical, patient, and lesion factors influence biopsy planning.
7. Apply troubleshooting strategies for challenging scenarios, including lesion location, thin breasts, and patient motion.
8. Describe radiology-pathology concordance and next steps for discordant results.
