We are incredibly grateful for the volunteers who made our first Career Conversation Series what it was.

While we can’t spotlight everyone individually, we’re highlighting two individuals who went above and beyond in how they showed up and took ownership.

A huge thank you to Ruth, Opemipo, and the entire NutriLife volunteer team. Your commitment and initiative are what make this work possible.

Our first session of the NutriLife Career Conversation Series really set the tone for the conversations we need to be having!

Capacity building in nutrition must go beyond technical knowledge. It should also equip students and early-career professionals to position themselves and build meaningful careers.

A huge thank you to our speakers, Dr. Oluwaseun Ariyo and Gbemisola Akinloye, for such an insightful conversation, and to everyone who showed up and made the session so engaging. While we couldn’t get through all the questions, we’ll definitely be addressing them in subsequent sessions.

We’ve pulled together 10 key highlights from the session. Swipe through →

This is just the beginning, and we’re excited for what’s ahead.

Our event is today!

If you are a nutrition student or early-career professional especially in Nigeria, you have a final opportunity to join.

This word cloud reflects the questions and concerns of over 100 registered participants navigating the nutrition space, particularly around career direction, opportunities, skills, and professional positioning.
What stands out is a deep lack of clarity on how to navigate and build within the field. If any of these resonate with you, then this is a conversation worth being part of.

Over half of our registered participants did not plan to study Nutrition.

And yet, we are expected to navigate the field without intentional guidance on opportunities or positioning.

Tomorrow, we’re hosting a conversation to begin addressing that gap.

If you’re a student or early-career professional in nutrition, this is for you.

Most nutrition students are well-trained, but poorly positioned professionally.

We spend years learning dietary recalls, anthropometry, metabolism pathways, and community assessments. Yet many graduates still find themselves at the end of the professional food chain.

Do they lack knowledge? No.
Often, we were simply never taught how to recognise, navigate, and position ourselves for opportunities within the field.

At NutriLife, we believe this conversation is overdue — especially if we want to position ourselves for greater impact in the nutrition space.
So we’re starting it.

Join us to learn from an experienced professional while also hearing from a young professional navigating the field. This is a powerful balance for exploring the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead!

*To the glory of God, our 3-Day World Breastfeeding Week outreach was a success!* 🙌🏾

We’re deeply grateful to every volunteer, healthcare professional, health centre, and mother who helped bring this vision to life.

Over the next few days, we’ll be sharing highlights from this incredible journey, but here’s a quick snapshot:

📌 A theory-led outreach, guided by the Health Belief Model, to promote meaningful behaviour change.

📌Capacity-building sessions to equip all volunteers with the skills and confidence to engage effectively.

📌Outreach activities across three locations on three different days, reaching a diverse group of mothers.

📌 The launch of peer support groups to provide ongoing encouragement and connection to outlast the event.

Excited to share incredible highlights from the sessions in subsequent posts!
