Infertility is a health issue, not a curse, and it rarely shows up overnight. Your body gives warning signs long before you ever start trying for a baby. The problem is, many people ignore them or assume they’re normal.

Knowing this, does a lot of good to your psyche.

It can affect men and women, and it doesn’t always mean you’ll never have children. In many cases, it means there’s an underlying issue that needs to be identified and managed.

**What are the Causes/Risk Factors of infertility ?**
For women:
Hormonal imbalances that affect ovulation
PCOS, endometriosis, fibroids, blocked fallopian tubes
Previous infections that caused scarring
Thyroid problems, excessive weight gain/loss, stress
Age - fertility declines after 35

For men:
Low s***m count, poor motility, abnormal s***m shape
Hormonal issues, infections, varicocele
Lifestyle factors: smoking, alcohol, heat exposure

As couples, sometimes both partners have small issues that together make conception difficult. That’s why testing both partners is important.

**The Warning Signs You Shouldn’t Ignore**
You don’t have to wait!!! Your body often signals issues early. Pay attention
* Menstrual disorders: Irregular periods, very short or very long cycles, missing periods for months
* Heavy or painful periods: Excessive bleeding, severe cramps
* Breast discharge when you’re not pregnant or breastfeeding: This can signal high prolactin or other hormonal issues
* Pain during s*x or pelvic pain: This could point to endometriosis or infections.
* Unusual vaginal discharge, itching, or odor: These might be signs of infection that, if untreated, can affect fertility
* ⁠Low libido, erectile issues, pain/swelling in the testicles, changes in ej*******on (for men).

Noticing these early means you can treat the root cause before it becomes a bigger problem.

Uterine Fibroids (myoma) are growths that develop in or on the uterus.

Types of Fibroid...
1. Intramural

2. Subserosal

3. Submucosal

4. Pedunculated

There are certain symptoms that might likely accompany Fibroid, some of which are
..Heavy of Prolonged periods, sometimes clotted
..PelvicPain
.. Pain during in*******se
.. Pregnancy Complications/Recurring Miscarriages

There's no exact cause of Fibroid anyways, but there are some factors that do matter:.. Hormones.. Genetics .. Lifestyle

Its best to know if you have Fibroids or not, Ultrasound checks for fibroids (myoma)
.. Transabdominal Ultrasound .. Transvaginal Ultrasound .. Hysterosalpingography (HSG)

They can be treated (through hysterectomy or myomectomy) while some are left to shrink usually after menopause.

These Signs do not necessarily confirm HIV on their own, they are also symptoms to many other illness, why not know your Status rather than living in ignorance.

Carefully Read through the Dangers and Benefits of Knowing Your Blood Group, Genotype & Rh Factor.

Often times, *Genotype* is spoken about more than blood group, while only few people have heard about Rh factor, but they go together. Dangers of not knowing your genotype:
1. High Risk of Sickle Cell Disease: Two People with AS genotype have a 25% chance of having a child with sickle cell disease with each pregnancy.
2. ⁠There’s a 50% risk with an AS + SS match.
3. ⁠The chance of producing a child with sickle cell disease is 100% with an SS + SS.
Genotype Compatibility directly affects your child’s health.

*Rh factor(Rh+, Rh-):*
Rhesus Factor Compatibility is the most critical thing to check, but it’s least discussed.
Here’s the danger...
When an Rh-negative conceives a child with an Rh-positive man, her body system might see the baby’s blood as foreign, therefore in subsequent pregnancies it can lead to Hemolytic Disease of the Newborn. The baby’s red blood cells is attacked by the mother’s immune system. This could result to:
1. Miscarriages
2. ⁠Severe Anemia in the baby
3. ⁠Brain Damage and in some cases lead to Death.
Only if you test your Rh factor before marriage then you’d be guided on how to prevent it with Anti-D immunoglobulin

Knowing your blood group makes it easier for medical personnel to carry out certain procedures in critical moments. Blood group compatibility may not sound like a big deal, but it matters in:
