On Sunday, the RenCare team took kidney health education beyond our dialysis centres and into the community.

We were at Christ Life Church Int’l, Ibadan, where we engaged members of the church in simple conversations around their health and carried out basic checks, including blood pressure, blood sugar and urine tests.

For us, outreach is an important part of healthcare. It creates an opportunity to encourage people to pay attention to their health, understand some of their risk factors and take action when something needs further attention.

It was also a valuable opportunity for our team to interact directly with the community and answer questions around kidney health and prevention.

Thank you to Christ Life Church Int’l, Ibadan for welcoming the RenCare team and making the outreach possible. We remain committed to bringing accessible kidney health education and care closer to more communities across Nigeria. 🇳🇬

Diabetes doesn’t only affect your blood sugar. It can affect your kidneys too.

When blood sugar stays high for long periods, it can damage the tiny blood vessels and filtering structures in the kidneys. The damage can happen gradually, and often without obvious symptoms in the early stages.

That’s why managing diabetes is also part of protecting your kidneys.

Know your blood sugar.
Monitor your blood pressure.
Get your kidney function checked regularly. Take your prescribed medications as directed. And don’t wait for symptoms before paying attention to your kidney health.

At RenCare, we believe kidney care should go beyond treatment. It should include awareness, early detection, proper management and compassionate support throughout every stage of the journey.

Protect your kidneys today. They’re doing more for you than you realise.

One of the biggest challenges with kidney disease is that it can progress silently. You could lose a significant amount of kidney function and still feel perfectly fine.

Here are 5 Golden Rules to help protect your kidneys:
🟣 1. Stay hydrated, but don’t overdo it. Drink enough water based on your body’s needs.
🟣 2. Control your blood pressure and blood sugar. They are among the leading causes of kidney disease.
🟣 3. Be careful with painkillers. Frequent or prolonged use of certain medications without medical advice can harm your kidneys.
🟣 4. Eat kidney-friendly. Reduce excess salt, highly processed foods, sugary drinks and excessive alcohol. Your kidneys will thank you.
🟣 5. Don’t wait for symptoms. If you have diabetes, hypertension, a family history of kidney disease, or you’re over 40, make kidney function testing part of your routine health checks.

Healthy kidneys rarely make noise. That’s why prevention and early detection matter.

At RenCare, we’re committed to helping people prevent, detect and manage kidney disease through expert nephrology care, advanced dialysis services and compassionate support.
