Happy Pride Month to all of us @⁨‎all⁩. 🏳️‍🌈

Pride is more than a celebration it is a protest, a movement, and a call for equality. It is a time to honor those who fought for the rights, dignity, and freedoms many continue to advocate for today.

As Africans, we must remember that diversity is not foreign to our history. Long before colonial era laws criminalized and stigmatized LGBTQI identities, many African societies recognized diverse ways of living and belonging. Pride therefore reminds us not only of our struggle for equality but also of our shared African values of community, dignity, respect, and humanity.

This month, let us use our voices to challenge discrimination, advocate for policy change, promote human rights, and build a future where everyone can live free from fear, violence, and exclusion.

Be proud. Be resilient. Stand against homophobia. Support one another. Keep pushing for a more just and inclusive Africa.

Happy Pride Month.

We celebrate the resilience of LGBTQI people, stand in solidarity against criminalization and discrimination, and continue building movements rooted in justice, advocacy, and collective liberation. No one should be punished for simply existing. ✊🏽

As today marks the beginning of the sacred seasons of Lent and Ramadan, we are reminded of a powerful time of reflection, renewal, and spiritual growth. This period calls us to deepen our commitment to prayer, fasting, abstinence, and almsgiving, strengthening not only our faith but also our compassion toward one another.

Let this season inspire us to show kindness, practice generosity, and uphold love within our community and beyond.

We also want to gently remind everyone to prioritize your safety and wellbeing during this period. Hold firmly to your faith and spiritual practices and remember, no one has the right to tell you that your prayers, supplications, or acts of devotion are unacceptable. Your connection with God is personal, valid, and worthy of respect.

May this season bring you peace, protection, strength, and abundant blessings.

As we celebrate, let us also look out for one another and stay safe and be mindful of your surroundings, especially in crowded areas and at night.

If visiting anyone, ensure to share your location, and any other necessary information about the person you’re visiting.

Inform a trusted person about your movements when traveling long distances.

If something feels unsafe, trust your instincts and seek help.

As we embark on this sacred 40 Days Lenten journey, we are reminded of the call to reflect, renew, and realign our hearts with the values of love, empathy, and inclusivity. Lent is a time of deep spiritual growth through *prayer, fasting*, and *almsgiving* three pillars that guide us in strengthening our relationship with one another and with the world around us.
