Kaduna State Government Strengthens Strategic Partnerships to Transform Health Commodity Supply Chain

The Kaduna State Government, under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Senator Uba Sani, CON, continues to implement reforms that are strengthening the health sector and improving access to quality healthcare for the people of Kaduna State.

In line with this commitment, the Kaduna State Health Supplies Management Agency (KADHSMA) successfully hosted its Maiden Strategic Suppliers' Interactive Session 2026, themed:
"Strengthening Partnerships for an Efficient, Transparent and Sustainable Health Supply Chain in Kaduna State."

The landmark two-day session was spearheaded by KADHSMA under the leadership of its Executive Secretary, Pharm. Aisha Tukur Isyaku, with the support and coordination of the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Haj. Umma K. Ahmad, as part of the Kaduna State Government's ongoing efforts to strengthen health systems through strategic stakeholder engagement.

The Session brought together pharmaceutical manufacturers, distributors, procurement professionals, development partners, regulatory agencies, professional bodies, and other key stakeholders to engage in frank and constructive discussions on strengthening procurement systems, supplier performance, product quality, payment processes, regulatory compliance, forecasting, and sustainable partnerships.

A major highlight of the event was the signing of the KADHSMA–Supplier Partnership Charter, symbolizing a shared commitment between the Agency and its suppliers to uphold transparency, professionalism, accountability, quality, ethical procurement practices, and continuous collaboration in delivering essential health commodities across Kaduna State.

Participants also adopted a communiqué containing key resolutions and commitments aimed at strengthening supplier relationships, improving procurement efficiency, enhancing accountability, and ensuring the continuous availability of quality medicines and health commodities throughout the State.

The successful conclusion of this maiden interactive session demonstrates the Kaduna State Government's resolve to build strong public-private partnerships that improve healthcare delivery and create a resilient, efficient, and sustainable health supply chain.
Together, Government and the private sector are laying the foundation for a future where every health facility in Kaduna State has timely access to safe, quality, and affordable health commodities.
Stronger Partnerships. Better Healthcare. A Healthier Kaduna State.

THANK YOU MESSAGE BY THE EXECUTIVE SECRETARY, KADUNA STATE HEALTH SUPPLIES MANAGEMENT AGENCY (KADHSMA)

On behalf of the Kaduna State Health Supplies Management Agency (KADHSMA), I wish to express our heartfelt appreciation to all dignitaries, partners, and members of the public who honoured our invitation to the commissioning of the Sabon Gari Zonal Drug Warehouse.
We are deeply grateful to Her Excellency, Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, for graciously commissioning this important facility and for her unwavering support and commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery in Kaduna State. Her presence and leadership continue to inspire confidence in the health sector.
We also extend our profound appreciation to His Excellency, Uba Sani, whose visionary leadership and sustained investments in healthcare infrastructure and systems have made this milestone possible.
The commissioning of this zonal warehouse, along with similar facilities in Ikara, Kachia, and Kafanchan, represents a major step toward eliminating medicine stock-outs and improving last-mile delivery of essential health commodities across the state. The simultaneous launch of the capitalization of health facilities with Drug Revolving Fund (DRF) commodities further strengthens our collective effort to ensure that medicines are consistently available, accessible, and affordable.
We sincerely appreciate the presence and support of the Honourable Commissioner of Health, the Emir of Zazzau, Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, local government officials, development partners, and all stakeholders who have contributed in diverse ways to the success of this initiative.
At KADHSMA, our mandate remains the continuous supply of safe, high-quality, and affordable medicines to public health facilities. We are encouraged by the progress made and remain committed to sustaining these gains for the benefit of all citizens.
We also call on community members and stakeholders to take ownership of this facility by safeguarding it against vandalism and ensuring its proper use, as its success depends on our collective responsibility.
Once again, we thank you all for your support, collaboration, and dedication to improving healthcare delivery in Kaduna State.
