KHETFUND CONFIRMS PROGRESS OF STRATEGIC INVESTMENTS AT BEBEJI GENERAL HOSPITAL THROUGH POST-IMPLEMENTATION ASSESSMENT

The State Health Trust Fund (KHETFUND) has conducted a post-funding verification exercise at Bebeji General Hospital to assess the implementation and impact of two critical healthcare interventions executed under the Fund's 2026 Regular Interventions Programme.

The verification exercise, held on Wednesday, 29th July, 2026, was led by the Director of Special Duties, Hamisu Abubakar, who headed the delegation to the facility.

The interventions verified include the installation of a solar power system valued at N69,739,240.00 and the procurement of essential medical equipment worth N14,496,231.00, bringing the total value of the interventions to N84,235,471.00. The funds for both interventions were disbursed on 14th April, 2026.

Speaking on behalf of the Executive Secretary of KHETFUND Dr. Fatima Usman Zahraddeen during the exercise, the Director Special Duties explained that the verification forms part of KHETFUND's commitment to ensuring that public funds are judiciously utilized and that all funded interventions are executed in line with approved specifications and expected standards.

He noted that the post-funding verification exercise is a vital accountability mechanism aimed at evaluating project implementation, promoting transparency, and ensuring that the interventions deliver the intended benefits to healthcare facilities and the communities they serve.

According to him, the installation of solar power is expected to provide a reliable and sustainable electricity supply for uninterrupted healthcare services, while the newly procured medical equipment will strengthen the hospital's diagnostic and treatment capacity, ultimately improving the quality of patient care.

The hospital management expressed appreciation to KHETFUND for the interventions, describing them as timely investments that have significantly enhanced service delivery within the facility. They reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining the equipment and ensuring the judicious utilization of the resources for the benefit of patients.

The verification exercise underscores KHETFUND's unwavering dedication to strengthening healthcare infrastructure across Kano State through strategic investments, continuous monitoring, and effective stewardship of public resources, in line with the healthcare transformation agenda of the Kano State Government, under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
