eDokta Telemedicine Clinic: Revolutionizing Healthcare in Kano State
We are happy to announce the launch of the first telemedicine clinic in Yanoko village, Tofa LGA, Kano State, on Wednesday, 5th February 2025!
This initiative, powered by eDokta Healthcare in collaboration with the Africa Centre of Excellence for Population Health and Policy (ACEPHAP) at BUK and eHealth Africa, brings digital healthcare solutions to underserved rural communities.
The launch event was a landmark town hall gathering, attended by community members, traditional and political leaders, and senior health officials, demonstrating a collective commitment to transforming healthcare access.
What is the eDokta Telemedicine Clinic?
A subsidized private initiative offering primary healthcare services via digital teleconsultation.
Features a prefabricated, containerized facility with a consulting room, pharmacy, and mini-laboratory.
Equipped with a tricycle ambulance for medical transport, referrals, and home healthcare services.
Focuses on maternal and child health, non-communicable diseases (hypertension, diabetes, mental health) to reduce maternal and under-five child mortality and combat the rise of NCDs in rural areas.

• Hon. Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, DG Media & Publicity, Governor’s Office, whose foundation pledged to support 300 patients monthly and planned support for pharmaceutical drugs.
