Today is World (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) IBD Day. If your stomach has been “bad” for months and the symptoms keep returning, please don’t just call it “ulcer.” IBD is a real, chronic inflammatory condition that includes Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, and it is often missed or delayed without proper evaluation.

Recurring diarrhoea, blood in stool, abdominal pain, and unintended weight loss should be assessed properly, not managed with repeated guesswork.

World Hypertension Day was yesterday. I’ll be honest — we were too deep in work to post it. Which is exactly the problem with this illness. It’s the thing we all push to tomorrow because it doesn’t shout until it’s serious.
No symptoms for years. Then one day, plenty. One reading at a pharmacy isn’t a diagnosis — three calm readings on different days is. If you haven’t checked yours this year, this late post is your sign. Send us your numbers, we’ll read them free.

Florence Nightingale was born on May 12, 1820.

Over 200 years later, the work she started is still being carried — quietly, tirelessly — by nurses in wards, clinics, homes and communities across the world.

In Nigeria, that looks like a nurse doing a double shift because the hospital is understaffed. It looks like someone explaining a diagnosis to a patient whose doctor spent three minutes in the room. It looks like compassion given freely, even when the system makes it hard.

Today is International Nurses Day.

To every nurse reading this — your work matters more than most people will ever say out loud.

Thank you. đź’™

Getting your lab results is not the finish line. It is the starting point.
But most patients leave with numbers and no direction. High. Low. Out of range. And then what?

At ClariMed, we use a simple three-step framework to turn results into real plans.

Context. What does this result actually mean for your life right now? Not the medical definition. The practical reality.

Choices. Here are two or three things you can actually do next. Specific. Realistic. Timed.

Commitment. One clear sentence. What you will do and when. Something you can remember on the way home.

That is the difference between leaving a consultation informed and leaving it empowered.

Have you ever received lab results with zero guidance on what to do next? Tell me what that experience felt like below.

See that HB on your result? This is what it’s telling you 👆
Low HB is more common in Nigerian women than people realise — especially during pregnancy or after heavy periods.
Know your numbers, know your body.
