Tinubu Woos Investors as APM Terminals Commits $600m to Apapa Port Upgrade

Customs CG Confirms Killing of Two Officers by Terrorists in Kebbi

The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, has confirmed the killing of two Customs officers by Lakurawa terrorists in Kebbi State.

Adeniyi disclosed that the officers, identified as ASC Bamigboye and DSC Dom, were killed in the early hours of Wednesday while repelling attacks by the terrorist group around 3 a.m.

The Nigeria Customs Service and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted 8,347 packages of Cannabis Indica weighing 4,173.5 kilogrammes and valued at ₦16.6 billion at Tin Can Island Port in Lagos.

The seizure came barely two weeks after both agencies uncovered another 4,729-kilogramme cannabis shipment worth ₦18.96 billion at the same port.

US Unveils $65.8bn ‘Golden Fleet’ Plan to Restore Maritime Dominance

The United States Navy has unveiled an ambitious 30-year shipbuilding strategy aimed at dramatically expanding its fleet, reforming naval procurement and reviving America’s maritime industrial base under the Trump administration’s “Golden Fleet” initiative.

At the heart of the Fiscal Year 2027 Shipbuilding Plan is a proposed $65.8 billion investment in shipbuilding, including funding for 34 manned ships and five unmanned platforms in FY2027 alone.
