It was another impactful delivery by DrugStoc at the Pharma West Africa Conference 2026 during our panel session, ā€œSmart Supply Chains, Healthier Populations: Leveraging Digital Innovation to Achieve Medicine Access Equity,ā€ delivered powerful insights across the healthcare value chain.

Chaired and moderated by our President & Co-Founder, Adham Yehia, the session explored medicine access equity through key lenses (manufacturing, digital health infrastructure, medicine security, policy, insurance, supply chains, and frontline healthcare delivery). It was a robust conversation with relevant points discussed.

Pharm. Ahmed Yakasai emphasized that medicine access equity is a core pillar of Universal Health Coverage, noting that medicine security is critical to national security and requires deliberate government investment in research and development.

Dr. Chibuzo Opara highlighted that digital equity will define the next phase of healthcare access, as more tools and infrastructure become digital. He stressed the need for innovators to design inclusive solutions that serve diverse patient populations.

Michal Matul underscored that access and affordability remain central to healthcare systems, sharing insights on how insurance and pooling models, like the Kampe micro health insurance, can expand access starting from the primary care level.

Pharm. Mohammed Isa Abubakar described equity as the balance of quality, access, and affordability, emphasizing the critical role of community pharmacies as the first point of care and the need for enabling more policies like the task-shifting policy.

We are proud of Adham Yehia for leading such a thought-provoking conversation and remain committed to advancing these discussions into real solutions, partnerships, and measurable impact across Africa’s healthcare ecosystem.

We’re still reflecting on the impact of Pharma West Africa Conference 2026!

Following a powerful opening ceremony that brought together distinguished leaders and dignitaries, including Pharm. Babashehu Ibrahim Ahmed, Prof. Akin Abayomi, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, Pharm. Ahmed I. Yakasai, Prince Julius Adelusi-Adeluyi, and Pharm. Ayuba Tanko Ibrahim, among others, DrugStoc’s Co-Founder & CEO, Dr. Chibuzo Opara, took the stage for a thought-provoking session on: ā€œThe Future of Connected Care and Creating Intelligent Health Networks.ā€

During the session, he emphasized the critical role of the last mile, highlighting that true healthcare transformation can only happen when access is extended seamlessly to the point of care, ensuring patients receive the medicines they need, when and where they need them.

He also spotlighted how the DrugStoc ecosystem, including Pillometer and our extensive network of clients and partners, is helping to bridge these gaps and drive more efficient, connected care delivery.

The session featured an exceptional lineup of speakers, including Prof. Lere Baale, Pharm. Chambalin Onuoha, Prof. Chimezie Anyakora, Dr. Njide Ndili, Dr. Martins O. Ovberedjo, Pharm. Hamzat Tayo, Mr John Shidiak, Pharm. Halima Momodu, and Pharm. Abimbola Adebakin, each contributing valuable insights to the conversation.

It was truly inspiring to engage with industry leaders, partners, and innovators, united by a shared commitment to improving healthcare access across Africa.
