Three days. One shared mission: advancing cancer care. 🎗️💙

From Day 1 through Day 3 of the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Conference in Abuja, Lakeshore Cancer Center was proud to be part of meaningful conversations, learning, collaboration, and advocacy shaping the future of oncology nursing and patient-centered cancer care in Nigeria.

The conference gave us the opportunity to introduce Lakeshore Cancer Center to key leaders and stakeholders, including the Registrar of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, while sharing our commitment to comprehensive, compassionate, and patient-centered cancer care.

We also celebrated an incredible recognition for our Nursing Administrator, Nurse Cynthia Nwogu, who received The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses in Cancer Care. 🌼🏆
Nurse Cynthia also served as a panelist, speaking passionately about the vital role oncology nurses play in the patient journey—from empathy and compassion to advocacy, decision-making, and ensuring that the patient's voice is always heard.

Another proud moment was Nurse Peace's poster presentation, “Improving Patient Preparedness for Chemotherapy Through Pre-Chemotherapy Clinical Review Clinics at a Nigerian Cancer Center.” Her work highlighted how thoughtful, patient-centered interventions can improve the chemotherapy experience and contribute to higher-quality cancer care.

From recognition and research to new connections and important conversations, the ONS Conference was a powerful reminder of what can happen when oncology professionals come together with a shared purpose.
