HOMEMADE CORN DOGS
has been AWOL for a while now, we apologize! we're back with a bang and it's the yummy HOME MADE CORN DOGS. I'm quite certain the name doesn't ring a bell to most of us. Corn dogs are not very popular at this part of the world. I came across this recipe sometimes last year and i do not regret for one day stumbling on it, it's been an awesome treat and i can assure you you're going to be pleased with this as well. Corn dogs are very suitable for outdoor events and indoor events as well, you can also have them on your birthday or child's dedication menu. Okay, follow the easy steps below:
INGREDIENTS
Hotdogs - a pack of 12
12 wooden skewers
1 cup all purpose flour
1 cup yellow cornmeal
4 cups groundnut oil
1/8 tablespoons pepper
3 tablespoons baking powder
1/4 cup of sugar
1/8 tablespoons salt
2 large eggs
1 cup milk
PREPARATION
1) In a large bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, salt, pepper, sugar, and baking powder.
2) Add milk and eggs to the bowl and whisk very well
3) Heat oil in a large pot or a deep fryer
4) While oil is heating, pat hotdogs dry abd insert wooden skewers in to hotdogs.
5) Dip/roll skewered hotdog in to batter until completely covered. (For even coating: pour the batter in to a tall container, such as a mason jar and deep in each hotdog)
6) Frying 2-3 hotdogs at a time, fry until golden brown in colour for about 3 minutes. Set in papar-towel-lined tray once cooked to drain off excess oil.
7) Ready to serve; you can serve with hot sauce or ketchup
