Treating a fungal nail can be difficult when the right treatment is not used.

IS GEL POLISH BAD FOR MY NAILS?

No it is not.

However, improper application and removal can damage your nails.

It commonly causes brittleness, dryness and thinning of the nails, especially if peeled off or used back to back without taking a break.

Filing off gel polish from your nail can also damage your nails. It is best to soak it off instead of filing.

That heat you feel when curing (drying) your nails in a UV or LED lamp can cause that seal called hyponychium to break, causing your nail to separate at the free edge.

Picking a good nail technician that invests in good products is also very important. All gel polishes are not the same.

Finally, know when to take a break. Rock your natural nails sometimes! If it is damaged, seek out for help.

PLANTAR WARTS

That painful spot under your foot may not just be “hard skin“ or a corn.

This patient presented with a painful plantar wart caused by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), a virus that enters the skin through tiny cuts or weak areas on the feet.

Common ways plantar warts are contracted are
🦠 Walking barefoot in public spaces
🦠 Public bathrooms
🦠 Swimming pool areas
🦠 Gym locker rooms
🦠 Contact with contaminated surfaces

For this patient, he got it when he went for NYSC camp.
