🩺 RCN MEDICAL MISSIONS AT TIVID ORPHANAGE HOME — 12TH ANNIVERSARY MEDICAL OUTREACH

RCN Medical Missions coordinated and executed a one-day medical outreach at Tivid Orphanage Home on 29th August 2026, as part of activities set out by the leadership of the Orphanage Home to mark their 12th anniversary, since inception.
Amongst other meaningful activities organized in celebration of the anniversary, the medical outreach was one of the ways set out to care for and celebrate the lives within and those around the Tivid community.
A total of 80 persons were attended to, ranging from very young babies to the elderly. Beneficiaries received free checks, free medical consultations, free medications, and selected free investigations where necessary.
The early birds, who were predominantly children, also enjoyed a comprehensive health education session, creating an opportunity to learn important lessons about healthy living and personal wellbeing.
We are especially grateful for the opportunity to work with the children. Their smiles, enthusiasm and openness made the experience truly memorable. ❤️

Rovi Pharmacy also supported the Tivid orphanage outreach by providing additional medications thereby contributing to the success of the initiative.

To the leadership, staff and entire Tivid Orphanage family, we say: CONGRATULATIONS on 12 remarkable years of impact, service and giving hope to children and families. 🎉. 💙 FREE ANTENATAL CLINIC AT THE IDP MEGA CAMP 💙

The August edition of our Free Antenatal Clinic for pregnant women residing at the IDP Mega Camp was held on Thursday, 27th August 2026, with over 40 pregnant women attended to.
Our visit also included extension of love to a postnatal woman and her baby, both were recently discharged from our hospital after a safe delivery
The work is growing, and our passion will not die! ❤️

We are deeply grateful to God for His grace, willing hearts, and available hands that continue to make this mission possible.

WORLD ORS DAY 2026; RCN MEDICAL MISSIONS AT TIVID ORPHANAGE

World ORS Day is observed yearly on July 29.
Theme for 2026: “ORS – A Simple Solution for a Healthier Future”.
It is a day to raise awareness about the life-saving importance of Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) in preventing and treating severe dehydration caused by diarrhoeal illnesses and fluid loss, particularly in young children.
RCN Mission Hospital was at Tivid orphanage to commemorate the day.
We had a time of fun, the children were reminded of God's truth about who they are; created in God's image; precious and loved ❤️🧡
We had an engaging health education session where the children learnt

Boxes of Oral Rehydration Salts were given to the orphanage home (as received through Direct Relief), as well as diapers for the toddler

A simple solution indeed can save a life - and every child deserves the opportunity to grow healthy, loved and full of hope.

COLLABORATION. IMPACT. CARE. EMPOWERMENT. SUPPORT. GOD’S LOVE. GOSPEL. ❤️

All these came together in one powerful outreach as the RCN Medical Missions Team and RCN Kanshio Skill Up Team stormed the IDP Mega Camp, Makurdi, Benue State, on 29th July 2026.

It was a day filled with faith, hope, learning, laughter, and transformation.

🙏 The Word, prayer and a power session, with testimonies of instant healing
🧑🏽‍🍳 Skills acquisition in catering, hair making, bead making, hair barbing, soap making and shoe making
💈 A young man who actively participated in the training was gifted a complete barbing kit, including a clipper and protective barbering cloth—an investment in his future and livelihood.
🩷 We also distributed sanitary pads to the women and girls present because we believe that supporting their hygiene and reproductive health is an essential part of care.

And the children were not left behind!
They enjoyed health education, Bible stories, quizzes, games and prizes—all wrapped in fun and love. 🎉
...more than an outreach
It was care in action.
It was empowerment.
It was the Gospel demonstrated through love and service.

It was fun. It was impactful.

The things that seem small can make a huge difference in a person's health and wellness.
The absence of basic items needed for care and wellbeing can become a major barrier—especially for people who already face limitations in accessing healthcare.
That is why, at RCN Medical Missions, we do what we can to bridge the gap, provide support, and bring hope to those who need it most.
We were at Tivid orphanage less than a month ago for menstrual hygiene health awareness. We didn't just go as an organization, we had time of sharing, learning and even playing with the ladies and the children
We are deeply grateful to God for the individuals and organizations who continue to support this mission. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps us reach further and do more.
We trust God for more.

WHEN THE SHEPHERD BECOMES DISPLACED, WHO CARES FOR THE SHEPHERD?

Across North-Central Nigeria, pastors, missionaries and Christian workers have faithfully served their communities, preaching the Gospel, comforting the bereaved, praying for the sick and standing with families through difficult seasons.

Today, some of these ministers and their families are themselves facing the consequences of displacement and humanitarian crisis.

Some have lost their homes.
Some have lost places of worship and sources of livelihood.
Some have suffered injuries or bereavement.
Some are struggling to meet everyday needs, including food, healthcare and their children's education.

Those who have spent years supporting others sometimes need support too.

This is the heart behind the Barnabas Restorative Initiative (BRI) of RCN Medical Missions.

BRI seeks to support displaced and crisis-affected clergy and their families through healthcare, psychosocial support and rehabilitation, essential welfare assistance, educational support and initiatives that can help families rebuild sustainable livelihoods and regain stability.

We believe these families should not be forgotten.

The Bible says:

“Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2

Today, we invite churches, ministries, organisations, businesses, Christians and compassionate people everywhere to stand with these families.

Will you become a Barnabas to a family in need?

Caring for Every Woman
Good health is not a privilege—it is a basic human right. Yet, for many women and girls living in Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps in Makurdi, Benue State, access to essential gynaecological and obstetric care remains a daily challenge.

At RCN Medical Missions, we are responding with compassion by providing free gynaecological and obstetric services to vulnerable women and girls. Our outreach includes antenatal and postnatal care, specialist consultations, treatment of common gynaecological conditions, maternal health education, family planning counselling, preventive health services, and referrals for advanced care where required.

This initiative reflects our commitment to serving humanity while complementing the commendable efforts of the Benue State Government and other partners working to improve healthcare for displaced communities. Together, we can reduce preventable maternal and newborn complications, restore dignity, and give every woman the opportunity to live a healthier life.

Every woman matters. Every life is precious. Together, we can make hope a reality.

July Edition of the Free Monthly Antenatal Clinic at the IDP Mega Camp

On 23rd of July 2026, RCN Medical Missions returned to the IDP Mega Camp to provide free antenatal care for pregnant women, continuing our commitment to protecting the lives of mothers and their unborn children.
We were delighted to have the support and active participation of leaders and team members from the UVOL Foundation, who joined us. UVOL Foundation donated a carton of maternal hygiene supplies, which was officially handed over to the Community Health Workers serving within the camp.
We were honored to have the visit of a team from the Ministry of Women Affairs, whose presence encouraged both the healthcare team and the women we served, and as part of our commitment to promoting maternal dignity and hygiene, in collaboration with the Ministry of Women Affairs, sanitary pads were distributed to females within reproductive age in the IDP Mega camp
During this outreach, 38 pregnant women received comprehensive antenatal services, including health education, word ministration and prayers, routine antenatal assessments, laboratory investigations, medical and obstetric/gynaecology consultations, free obstetric ultrasound scans, and free medications.

Every encounter with families who have endured violence and displacement reminds us that compassion has the power to restore hope. Each act of love is a light that pierces the darkness and reassures them that they are not forgotten.
