Hurray! It's TGIF, and what better way to wrap it up than with helpful Physiotherapy Tips? Today, let’s talk about five warning signs of sudden joint problems.

Joint locking or catching can make movement difficult or uncomfortable. If your joint suddenly feels stuck, catches during movement, or cannot move normally, it may require prompt medical attention.

Severe, sharp pain is another important warning sign. Sudden and intense joint pain, especially after an injury or unusual movement, should not be ignored or managed carelessly.

Rapid swelling around a joint may indicate injury or inflammation. Similarly, a visible deformity or unusual joint position requires immediate medical assessment.

Numbness, weakness, or redness around a painful joint can also signal an underlying problem. These symptoms may affect movement and should receive proper attention.

Remember, early assessment can support safer recovery and better movement. Avoid ignoring persistent or sudden joint symptoms or pushing through severe pain.

Have you ever felt dizzy, weak, or unsteady while standing?

Do you know it could be Orthostatic Hypotension?

Orthostatic Hypotension is a sudden drop in blood pressure when you stand up, making you feel dizzy, weak, or unsteady.

It happens when your body does not adjust blood flow quickly enough after changing position from sitting or lying down to standing.

Common symptoms include dizziness, blurred vision, weakness, light-headedness, and sometimes fainting. These may last briefly but should not be ignored.

Older adults and people with dehydration, diabetes, heart conditions, or those taking certain medications may be more at risk.

When symptoms occur, sit or lie down immediately and rise slowly. Stay hydrated, and speak with a healthcare professional if episodes are frequent or severe.

Today, the Immaculate Heart of Mary Specialist Hospital, Nkpor family came together in faith and joy to celebrate the Feast of the Transfiguration and the Feast Day of our beloved CEO, Sr. M. Nkiruka Okafor IHM, PhD.

The celebration began with a solemn Holy Mass, where hearts were lifted in thanksgiving, prayers, and renewed commitment to God's service.

The joyful atmosphere continued with a colourful celebration filled with smiles, warm fellowship, and heartfelt appreciation for our inspiring leader.

We are deeply grateful for Sr.'s unwavering dedication, compassionate leadership, and selfless commitment to quality healthcare and human dignity.

As we celebrate this special day, we pray that God grants her a blessed vocation, abundant grace, sound health, and renewed strength to continue leading our hospital to even greater heights.
