DIABETES CAN DAMAGE YOUR KIDNEYS

Did you know that diabetes is one of the leading causes of kidney disease?

When blood sugar remains too high for a long time, it can gradually damage the tiny blood vessels inside the kidneys. These blood vessels are part of the system that filters your blood.

At first, you may not feel anything.

That is why kidney damage from diabetes can be dangerous—it can develop silently.

💡 Protect your kidneys by:
• Monitoring your blood sugar
• Checking your blood pressure
• Taking prescribed medications correctly
• Eating a balanced diet
• Going for regular medical check-ups

Your kidneys may not complain early, but your tests can tell you what your body is experiencing.

❤️ Protect your kidneys before they become damaged.

TODAY'S KIDNEY CHALLENGE 🩺

For today's challenge, I want you to do something simple.

CHECK YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE.

If you have access to a BP machine, take your reading while relaxed and record it.

Don't just say:

"My BP is fine."

Know the actual number.

Write it down.

Then ask yourself:

👉 When was my last kidney function test?
👉 Do I know my blood sugar level?
👉 Do I have a family history of kidney disease?
👉 Am I taking any medications regularly?
👉 Have I been ignoring any health warning signs?

Your health deserves more than assumptions.

Day 3 reminder: Prevention begins with awareness.

Share this post with someone who needs to check their blood pressure today. ❤️

The Kidney & Blood Pressure Connection

Here's something interesting:

Your kidneys don't only suffer from high blood pressure.

They also help regulate blood pressure.

So there's a relationship between the two.

High blood pressure can damage the kidneys.

And damaged kidneys can make it harder for the body to regulate blood pressure.

This can create a difficult cycle:

High BP → Kidney damage → Reduced kidney function → More difficulty controlling BP

This is one reason people with hypertension should take their treatment and monitoring seriously.

Don't stop your prescribed medication simply because you feel better.

Feeling well doesn't always mean the problem is gone.

Your Blood Pressure Could Be Hurting Your Kidneys

Your blood pressure doesn't only affect your heart.

It can affect your kidneys too.

The kidneys contain millions of tiny blood vessels that help filter your blood.

When blood pressure remains too high over time, these delicate vessels can become damaged.

And here's the dangerous part:

High blood pressure may not give you any warning signs.

You can feel perfectly fine while damage is gradually occurring.

That's why checking your blood pressure regularly is important.

🩺 Know your blood pressure.
🫘 Know your kidney health.
❤️ Protect your future.

A number on a BP machine today could help you prevent a serious problem tomorrow.

What Happens When Your Kidneys Stop Working Properly?

Think of your kidneys as your body's filtration and regulation system.

Every day, your blood passes through the kidneys. They filter waste and excess substances while keeping useful things your body needs.

But when kidney function declines, waste and excess fluid can begin to build up.

This may eventually lead to symptoms such as:

• Swelling of the feet or legs
• Fatigue
• Changes in urination
• Nausea or poor appetite
• Shortness of breath
• Difficulty concentrating

However, symptoms can vary—and early kidney disease may have no obvious symptoms at all.

That's why testing matters.

A simple blood and urine test can provide important information about kidney health.

Question for you:
When was the last time you checked your kidney function?

Your Kidneys Are Working Right Now

Did you know that your kidneys are working every single minute—even while you sleep? 🫘

Your kidneys are not just organs that produce urine. They help:

💧 Remove waste and excess fluid from the blood
🧂 Balance electrolytes like sodium and potassium
🩸 Help regulate blood pressure
🦴 Support healthy bones
❤️ Help your body produce red blood cells

The amazing part?

You may lose a significant amount of kidney function without feeling sick at first.

That is why kidney disease is often called a “silent disease.”

Don't wait until your body starts shouting before you start listening.

Protect your kidneys. Check your health. Know your numbers.
