Behind the glam, there are risks nobody sees.
On the 31st, while returning from Mbaise after a long day of work, something happened I’ll never forget.
On top of the bridge…
My brake failed.
In seconds, my car started moving backward uncontrollably.
No warning.
No pause.
Just instinct, prayer, and fear.
We hit a car.
A company vehicle.
And before we could even process that shock, a truck was almost crushing us and i thought of jumping down from the bridge
In that moment, nothing mattered, not makeup, not business, not bookings.
Only life.
By God’s mercy:
✅ No life was lost
✅ No one was crushed
✅ No injury
Only cars.
Phones.
Expenses.
And yes, I had to fix the other car.
Extra cost. Extra stress. Extra burden.
But as I stood there later, one thought kept ringing in my heart even though i cried for 2 days but my husband had to console me.
“It could have been worse.”
This is the side of makeup artistry people don’t talk about.
We move from one location to another.
Early mornings.
Late nights.
Heavy kits.
Tight schedules.
Road risks.
Pressure.
Fatigue.
Especially during peak seasons like this
Behind every flawless bride is an artist who prayed on the road.
Behind every soft glam is a professional who took real-life risks to show up.
Today, I’m grateful.
Grateful to God for protection.
Grateful that cars can be fixed ,lives cannot.
Grateful that we’re here to tell the story.
To every makeup artist , every vendor on the road daily ,may God keep you safe.
May your hustle never cost you your life.
💬 If you’ve ever experienced a close call on the road because of work, drop a prayer
Share this to remind someone that grace is real ,and safety matters.
Behind the scenes isn’t always pretty… but God is always present.
