Vitamin D is NOT just for bones. It's a hormone.

And your ovaries are listening.

If you're trying to conceive, have PCOS, or are preparing for IVF, Vitamin D deficiency is common and often overlooked.

It won't magically raise your AMH, but correcting a deficiency may support:
✓ Healthy ovulation
✓ Egg development
✓ A healthy implantation environment
✓ S***m health in men

Don't guess. Ask your healthcare provider about a 25-hydroxy Vitamin D test.

Have you ever checked your Vitamin D level?

Your kidneys filter about 150 liters of blood every day, yet early kidney damage often has no symptoms.

As a nurse, these are 5 common causes I see:

1. High blood pressure damages the tiny blood vessels in the kidneys.
2. High blood sugar slowly injures the kidney's filtering units.
3. Frequent use of painkillers especially NSAIDs without medical guidance.
4. Recurrent UTIs or kidney infections more common in women.
5. Family history and skipping routine health check-ups.

Watch for these warning signs:
• Swollen feet or face
• Foamy urine
• Extreme tiredness
• Changes in how often you urinate

Protect your kidneys:
• Keep your blood pressure and blood sugar under control.
• Stay well hydrated.
• Avoid self-medicating with painkillers.
• Ask your healthcare provider if you need kidney screening, especially if you're at higher risk.

Your kidneys work hard every day. Protect them before problems start.

7 Household Medicines You Should NEVER Share Even With Family

As a busy woman, it's easy to share. Your sister has headache, you give her your drug. Your husband has eye redness, you give him your eye drop.

Please, stop These 7 should NEVER be shared:

1. ANTIBIOTICS (Amoxicillin, Flagyl, Augmentin) Your infection is not their infection. Sharing creates resistance. The next infection may not respond to any drug.

2. EYE DROPS & EYE OINTMENTS Even if you both have eye infection - the bottle tip carries bacteria. One bottle, one person.

3. INHALERS & ASTHMA PUMPS The mouthpiece carries oral bacteria and fungi. Sharing can spread infection. Doses are for YOUR lungs only.

4. PRESCRIPTION PAINKILLERS (Tramadol, Codeine syrup) What helps your pain can stop someone else's breathing. Very dangerous for children and elderly.

5. INSULIN & DIABETES MEDICINE Dose is based on YOUR blood sugar and weight. Giving it to another person can cause coma.

6. BLOOD PRESSURE & HEART DRUGS One person's BP drug can dangerously drop another person's BP. Never share.

7. STEROID CREAMS & VAGINAL CREAMS What clears your rash can worsen someone else's. Vaginal creams can hide infections.

What to do instead:
• Keep a basic first aid box with general items only.

• Label every prescribed drug with NAME and DATE.

• Love sometimes means saying I can't share this, but I will go with you to see a nurse
Sharing medicine is not kindness. Safe guidance is kindness.

Save and share this to your family group. You might save a life.

For education only. Always consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Why Resuming S*x Too Soon After Childbirth Can Be Risky

Whether you had a vaginal birth or a C-section, your body needs time to heal before resuming s*xual activity.

After a Vaginal Birth

• Tears and stitches need time to heal. Resuming s*x too soon may cause pain, bleeding, or delay healing.

• Your pelvic floor muscles and surrounding tissues are still recovering and need time to regain strength.

After a C-Section

• A C-section is major abdominal surgery. Both the incision and the uterus need time to heal.

• Even if the incision looks healed, deeper tissues are still recovering.

Risks After Both Vaginal Birth and C-Section

• The uterus is healing where the placenta detached, increasing the risk of infection if healing is incomplete.

• Hormonal changes, especially during breastfeeding, can cause vaginal dryness, making s*x uncomfortable or painful.

• Physical and emotional recovery go hand in hand. Fatigue, hormonal changes, and adjusting to life with a newborn can all affect intimacy.

When Is It Safe?

• Attend your postpartum check-up and follow your healthcare provider's advice before resuming s*xual activity.

• Every woman's recovery is different. Don't compare your healing journey with someone else's.

Healing is not a race. Give your body the care and time it deserves.

SUNDAY REFLECTION:
Praying vs. Seeking Emergency Care

Faith and medical care are not enemies they work hand in hand.

As a Nurse, I believe in evidence-based medicine. As a woman of faith, I rely deeply on the power of prayer. You never have to choose one over the other.

🙏 PRAY WHEN:
• You feel anxious, overwhelmed, or afraid.
• You are waiting on test results or a diagnosis.
• You need wisdom to make critical health decisions.
• You are standing in faith for a loved one’s healing.

🏥 GO TO THE NEAREST HOSPITAL OR EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT (A&E) WHEN:

• You experience severe chest pain or pressure.
• You have difficulty breathing or sudden shortness of breath.
• You notice sudden weakness, numbness, confusion, or slurred speech.
• You lose consciousness or suffer a seizure.
• You have uncontrolled, heavy bleeding.
• You have a high fever paired with severe illness.
• Your symptoms get rapidly worse never ignore an emergency.

❤️ A NURSE’S REMINDER:
Prayer brings peace. Medical care saves lives.
Seeking medical attention is not a lack of faith it is acting with the wisdom and resources available to protect your life. Pray with faith, act with wisdom, and prioritize your health today.
