So, â Doctor died due to Lassa Fever, not just a doctor guys, but a Senior Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Bingham University Teaching Hospital in Jos, apparently, she contracted it from her patient ând when she was laid to rest and the video was posted on x and one nurse commented “Rest well, Ma, I will never go extra for my patients, I will only do my work diligently and that’s all” you all, a lot of people dragged her like t!ger generator set but thank God all medics stood by her, you need to see us defending her, Nurses, Doctors, Pharmacists, Medical Radiographers, Drs of physiotherapy, Medical Lab Scientists, etc.

What âre you dragging her for, you should drag the government, â Dr died of a virus due to systemic failure and poor working conditions ând you want other medical professionals to be happy?

Someone even said “After all, Doctors and nurses signed death warrant” how convenient! you and who?

Everyone began sharing their stories, see, you need to be alive and healthy in order to care for your patients better.

I even dropped a tweet and I said “If there’s no PPE ând other equipments necessary ând needed to save my patients ând in order to protect my patient and myself, I will never perform such procedure, I will do my best and that’s all âs long as I ⬇️⬇️⬇️

1. Do good
2. Do no harm &
3. Prevent harm

Someone even stated how a patient she helped to procure some meds for her from the nurses station ended up accusing her of stealing from her only because she tried to replace it back, another said a patient he was so good to and was rooting for absconded during his shift ând it was in a private hospital, guess whose salary was tampered with? The Nurses

Now, let’s actually talk âbout what nurses go through because they are trying to be patient advocate with my own experience. ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

I once borrow dressing pack from â pt on bed 3 for pt on bed 20. I specifically told this patient relative to kindly return it soon.

I didn’t follow up because I trusted them ând didn’t think otherwise, patient was later discharged during my off, I didn’t bother asking because I thought I passed the information well enough >>>>>>>

Few days later the patient on bed 3 wasn’t pleased with me because his dressing pack wasn’t returned and the wife (pt relative) insisted I must päy for it/return it.

So, the patient I borrowed something for ând promised to return it, broke my trust because I choose to be a patient advocate.

You all, guess what? I did, While dealing with some patients, always be 100 steps ahead.

By the way, we also promised to take care of ourselves while caring for our patients in our oath taking because you can’t simply give what you don’t have.

Introduction
Diarrhea and dysentery are common gastrointestinal disorders characterized by increased frequency of stool passage. They are major causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide, especially in children under five years. Although related, they differ in etiology, clinical features, and management.

Diarrhea

Definition
Diarrhea is the passage of three or more loose or watery stools per day, or more frequent stools than normal for the individual.

Causes
Infectious causes (most common):
Viruses, e.g., Rotavirus
Bacteria, e.g., Escherichia coli
Parasites, e.g., Giardia lamblia
Food poisoning
Poor sanitation and contaminated water
Drug-induced (e.g., antibiotics)
Malabsorption disorders

Clinical Features
Frequent watery stools
Abdominal cramps
Nausea and vomiting
Fever (sometimes)
Signs of dehydration (dry mouth, sunken eyes, reduced urine output)

Management of Diarrhea
Rehydration therapy (mainstay of treatment):
Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS)
Intravenous fluids (e.g., Ringer')

My name is Zainab. I’m 27 years old. An SS.

That is, I live with sickle cell disease.
My parents are both AS.

Oh, they They knew.
They were told.
They still married.

They said God approved it. They said love would be enough. They said faith would cover the consequences.

I am the consequence.

I was diagnosed before I was two. My childhood memories are not playgrounds or cartoons,they are; hospitals, needles, and adults whispering when they thought I couldn’t hear.

In primary school, I missed classes so often that teachers stopped asking why. Some classmates thought I was pretending. Some thought I was cursed. I learned early how to smile while feeling different.

By secondary school, the pain episodes became more frequent. I would wake up excited for school and end the day on a hospital bed. I watched my mates grow normally while my life moved in pauses, school, hospital, recovery, repeat.

At 15, I lost my younger brother to sickle cell.
We were both SS.

That day changed me forever.

My parents broke down in front of me — crying, apologizing, saying “We followed faith. We didn’t think…”
But the damage had already been done.

Sometimes I forgive them.
Sometimes I resent them deeply.
Both feelings live in me.

In university, I tried to be normal. I joined sickle cell advocacy groups, volunteered with awareness organizations, spoke at events, encouraged parents to test their genotype. People call me strong. They call me a warrior.

What they don’t see is me crying alone at night after another silent pain episode.
They don’t see the fear that comes with planning a future in a body that doesn’t always cooperate.

And Relationships?
That’s another wound.

I’ve been loved… briefly.
The moment conversations turn serious about marriage, children, commitment….they leave. Some are honest. Some ghost me. Some promise forever and disappear quietly.

One man once said he would do anything for me. He talked about taking me abroad, better care, a life without fear. I believed him. For the first time, my heart rested.

Then one day, he stopped calling.

That heartbreak triggered one of the worst crises I’ve had as an adult. Not because of physical stress but because hope collapsed.

Now I’m older. The pain episodes come differently. Less dramatic, but more exhausting. My body recovers slower. My fears are heavier. I ask myself questions my parents never asked each other.

I am strong, yes.
But I am tired.

If you are AS and the person you love is AS, please love your unborn children enough to stop and think. Faith is not a license to ignore knowledge. I am a proof to that

I didn’t ask to be a lesson.
But if my life can prevent another child from being born into avoidable pain, then my voice matters.

That’s why I’m writing this to you. Because people listens to you and this story needs to be heard. I hope that your audience share this till it reaches those who are about to walk by faith and not by sight, Sickle Cell is real!.

Today is National C-Section Day.
to mamas who brought life into this world through surgery. Whether it was planned or an emergency, a C-section is still birth. It's major abdominal surgery. It's layers of muscle and tissue. It's recovery awhile caring for a newbOrn. I celebrate me It's healing while learning how to be a mom. There's no "easy way、to give birth. There's just different ways. And every mother who carried a baby, labored, healed, and loved through it all deserves recognition. So today, we honor the strength, the sacrifice, and the resilience of C-section mothers everywhere. Your birth story matters. Your body is powerful. Your journey is valid. It's sure a valid day to be celebrated
