The grand finale of the Global Health Information Professionals Week (HIPWeek) 2026 marked a week-long awareness campaign in Bayelsa State.
The Comrade Dogiye Lucky led executives of the Association of Health Records and Information Management Practitioners of Nigeria (AHRIMPN), Bayelsa State Branch, marked a week-long awareness campaign in Bayelsa State.
The Association executives visited some selected secondary schools (Community Secondary School Opolo and Bishop Dimieari Grammar School Ovom) in Yenagoa to educate students on Health Information Management as both a university course and a viable career path.
During the visits, students were introduced to the role of Health Information Professionals in modern healthcare and the growing opportunities within the field.
To wrap up the activities, the Association distributed writing materials to students of Community Secondary School, Opolo, and Bishop Dimieari Grammar School, Ovom, Yenagoa. This gesture not only supported the students’ learning but also reinforced the importance of Health Information Management in shaping future professionals.
