🌧️ Can you use an AED in the rain? Yes, you can!

One of the biggest mistakes people make is hesitating because they think water and AEDs don't mix. In reality, delaying treatment is often far more dangerous than using the AED in wet conditions.

If someone suffers a cardiac arrest outdoors in the rain:
✅ Call emergency services and start CPR.
✅ Move the person to a safer, drier area if possible.
✅ Quickly dry the chest before applying the electrode pads.
✅ Remove any wet clothing covering the chest.
✅ Follow the AED's voice instructions and continue CPR when advised.

⚠️ What you should avoid is placing the AED or the person in standing water. If the chest is very wet, dry it first so the pads can stick properly.

Remember: every minute without CPR and defibrillation reduces the chance of survival. Don't let the rain stop you from helping.

🚨 Would you recognize a cardiac arrest?

The first signs are often simpler than people think:
✅ They are unconscious
✅ They don't respond when spoken to or gently shaken
✅ They are not breathing normally

👉 Important: gasping for air, snoring sounds, or irregular breathing are not normal breathing and can be a sign of cardiac arrest.

If someone is unconscious and not breathing normally:
1️⃣ Call emergency services immediately.
2️⃣ Start CPR.
3️⃣ Send someone to get an AED if one is available.
4️⃣ Follow the AED's instructions until help arrives.

Don't worry about deciding whether a shock is needed. The AED will analyse the person's heart rhythm and tell you exactly what to do. It will only deliver a shock if one is needed.

The most important thing is to act quickly. You don't have to be completely certain it's a cardiac arrest before helping.

Every minute without CPR and defibrillation reduces the chance of survival.

❤️ Knowing these signs could help save a life one day.

🤔 We often receive comments like: “You’re better off just buying one.”

❗️But people do not realise buying an AED is not a one-time purchase and then you’re done. ❗️

👉 Owning an AED comes with ongoing responsibilities and costs. Batteries need replacing, pads expire and after a deployment the device must be checked and made ready again…

↗️ Those expenses continue to add up throughout the lifetime of the AED. When you take all maintenance, replacements and servicing into account, renting is a more cost-effective solution in the long run than many people expect.

💚 That’s why many of our customers choose our subscription model. They appreciate the peace of mind, something we see reflected time and again in our customer reviews.

💔 Many AEDs don’t receive the maintenance they need. In fact, around 60% are not properly maintained.

😕 Imagine someone suffering a cardiac arrest, an AED is found, but it doesn’t work!?

That’s exactly why we do things differently.

✅ With our fixed monthly subscription, we take care of everything: maintenance, battery and pad replacements, servicing after deployment and ongoing support.

❌ No hidden costs. No unexpected expenses. No worries.

We make sure your AED is always ready when every second counts, so you can focus on what matters most: protecting your community. ❤️

🤔 Is there an AED in your building?
👉 Do you know exactly where it is?
🤷 Would your colleagues know where to find it?
⁉️ Can it be accessed quickly?

In a cardiac emergency, rapid action can save a life. Knowing where an AED is located should be as familiar as knowing where the coffee machine or meeting rooms are.

Take a minute today to check. You might never need that information, but if you do, you'll be glad you knew exactly where to look.

💬 Does your workplace have an AED, and do people actually know where it is? Let us know in the comments.

Peak season means full tables, busy shifts, stocked fridges and making sure your guests have a great experience.

But there’s one thing many hospitality businesses overlook…

Being prepared also means being able to help the people around you. Your guests, your team, your regulars and the wider community that walks through your doors every day.

A cardiac arrest can happen anywhere, at any time, to anyone. A guest, a colleague, a supplier, or even someone simply passing by your venue.

That’s why having an AED readily available matters. Not because you expect to use it, but because if that moment ever comes, you’ll be able to help.

And when it comes to saving a life, every minute counts. ❤️
