Do you experience lower-back pain or tight hips?

Sometimes where you feel the restriction isn’t necessarily where the whole story begins.

That’s why I like to assess before I treat. Looking at how the hips move from side to side can reveal differences that may be influencing how the rest of the body moves.

In this session, we identified a noticeable difference between the two sides, worked with the restrictions we found, and then reassessed.

The goal isn’t perfect symmetry. It’s about helping the body move with better balance, mobility and ease.

Assess → Treat → Reassess.

The feet show the change—but they weren’t the only area I worked on.

During Session 1, this client’s lower limbs rested in greater external rotation, with both feet falling noticeably outward.

Across three sessions, I worked through several areas of the body using fascia stretching, neuromuscular work and Rapid Release Target Vibration Therapy. This reel shows only part of that process.

By Session 3, his feet were resting much closer to neutral. The goal wasn’t to force them into position—it was to work with the body and then observe how it naturally responded.

No single technique created this change. It came from assessing, applying targeted treatment and continually reassessing.

Assess. Treat. Reassess.

Do your hips and lower back still feel tight—even after stretching?

Sometimes the area where you feel the restriction isn’t necessarily where it begins. The body works as a connected system, so movement in the hip and pelvis can influence what happens through the trunk and upper body.

Here, I’m experimenting with a stretch I saw before and adding my own twist. By creating a gentle seesaw movement, I can explore how the upper and lower body respond together.

The important part is what happens afterwards:

Assess. Explore. Reassess.

Because the body gives you the feedback.

Such a great day at Under the Sun Yoga Festival at Basecamp Amsterdam 🌿

I’m especially grateful for the opportunity to share Fascia Stretch Therapy with so many people — including movement, yoga and fitness practitioners.

As practitioners, we spend so much time helping others that we don’t always talk about our own limitations, injuries or the things we’re working through ourselves. So I really appreciated everyone who was open enough to share what they were experiencing, get on the table and try something new. 🙏🏾

There’s something powerful about practitioners supporting practitioners — learning from one another instead of feeling like we always have to have all the answers.

And a big shout-out to BLACKROLL® for supporting this event and loaning us the equipment for the day — the compression boots, LOUNGER 2.0 recovery chair and recovery pillows. Together they created a great space for people to switch off, recover and recharge. 🙌🏾

A beautiful community event filled with movement, recovery, openness and connection. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who came by and made the day so special.

Watch his squat change in just a few minutes.

Most people think the answer to a deeper squat is simply stretching more. But watch what happens here.

First, we assessed his movement. His squat wasn’t just limited by mobility — his body also needed a better movement strategy.

We used simple neuromuscular drills, targeted hip mobility work, and then changed the environment with a heel lift.

Within minutes, his squat became deeper, smoother, and more stable.

Better movement isn’t always about more flexibility. Sometimes it’s about giving your nervous system a better strategy.

Self-Care Monday ✨

Today was about trying something new — while also supporting another local wellness business.

I visited LED Light Therapy Amsterdam and met the wonderful Virginia, who has been working with light therapy for 14 years and has been at this location for four years.

They offer several different LED light therapy programs focusing on things like rejuvenation, anti-aging, recovery, relaxation and more. Virginia walked me through the options, and I decided to try the insomnia program.

During my 30-minute session, I actually fell asleep for about 15 minutes! 😴 I came out feeling like I’d had a great power nap — relaxed, rejuvenated and with more energy.

I’d definitely recommend experiencing it, and it’s something I’d like to incorporate into my own recovery routine.

For me, Self-Care Monday is also about community — supporting local wellness businesses, experiencing what other practitioners have to offer, exchanging ideas and finding opportunities to collaborate.

Thank you, Virginia, for such a warm welcome. 🙏🏾

We spend so much time helping others recover. Sometimes we need to make time for our own recovery too.

What if tight hips aren’t actually the reason you can’t squat deeper?

A deeper squat isn’t always about gaining more flexibility.

In this session, we assessed what was limiting his movement, then used targeted hip mobility and neuromuscular drills to change his movement strategy.

Then we changed the environment with a heel lift — and look at the difference.

Sometimes the body doesn’t need to be pushed further. It needs a better strategy.

Feeling stiff? The problem may not be where you feel it.

Your body works as a system. Restrictions in one area can influence how you move somewhere else.

That’s why I don’t just focus on the area that feels tight or uncomfortable.

I assess how your body moves, work on what I find, and then reassess to see what has changed.

Assess. Treat. Reassess.

Stop chasing the symptoms. Start understanding what may be limiting your movement.

What if the feeling of “tightness” isn’t actually the problem? 🤔

Many people assume they just need to stretch more. But tightness is often a signal—not the root cause.

My goal isn’t to force your body into a deeper stretch. It’s to improve how you move, reduce unnecessary tension, and help your body feel more efficient.

Every session is tailored to the individual because no two bodies move the same.

Stop guessing. Start assessing.
