Most people think flexibility comes from pushing harder into a stretch.

FST takes a different approach.

We begin with gentle circumduction to help the nervous system relax and prepare for movement.

Next, the client actively participates using PNF (contract-relax) techniques, allowing the body to gradually accept more range without forcing it.

As the movement progresses, we move into the Signature Stretch and eventually the Scorpion Stretch.

This creates space through the front of the hips, including the psoas, iliacus, re**us femoris, and TFL, while also opening the side body through the ribs, trunk, and spine.

The goal isn’t to see how far someone can stretch.

The goal is to help the body move with more freedom, better balance, and less tension.

Fibromyalgia is not always visible, but the body feels it. ✨

Stretching myth:If forcing more range worked, you wouldn’t still feel tight.

Sometimes the body doesn’t need more pressure.It needs to feel safe enough to let go.

When the nervous system is guarding, the tissue can hold on even when you keep stretching.

That’s why my sessions are not about forcing the body into a position.

I use traction, oscillation, circumduction, PNF, dynamic movement, breath, and hands-on soft tissue work to help the body calm down and respond.

Sometimes it feels like a little dance with the tissue — gently moving, listening, and giving the body time to unwind.

Real mobility isn’t forced.It’s restored.

Really grateful for this weekend at FIBO. It was a meaningful experience for me, both professionally and personally.

I felt genuinely welcomed and supported by the Blackroll team, and that meant a lot. What stood out most was how curious, open, and receptive people were. So many asked questions, wanted to experience the work, and showed real interest in this type of stretching therapy.

It was a little overwhelming at times, but also incredibly encouraging. Moments like this remind me why I care so much about what I do.

A sincere thank you to Scott, Michelle, Patrick, Sebastian, and the entire team for taking such good care of me throughout the weekend. I’m leaving tired, grateful, and hopeful for what’s ahead.
