Your feet need space to actually function.

Shoes aren’t automatically bad for your feet, but a shoe that is too narrow, too small or simply doesn’t fit your foot well can definitely become a problem.
If your toes feel compressed at the end of the day, start by checking the toe box. Your toes should have enough room to spread naturally instead of being pushed together for hours.
If standing barefoot feels surprisingly unstable, gradually spend a little more time barefoot at home and practice simple things like standing on one leg or slowly shifting your weight from side to side.
If your arches regularly ache after short walks, don’t immediately assume you just need more support. Your footwear, walking volume, foot strength and training load can all play a role.
A simple place to start:
Give your toes room.
Move your ankles regularly.
Train your feet gradually.
Increase walking volume progressively instead of suddenly.
Persistent foot pain deserves a proper assessment rather than simply changing shoes and hoping for the best.
