𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐀𝐋𝐀 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐊𝐞𝐧𝐲𝐚! 🇰🇪🎉

🏥 Last month we launched IMPALA in our first hospital in Kenya – Kenyatta National Hospital. (KNH)! Thanks to the vision of the KNH CEO, leadership, and clinical teams, 10 monitors were installed in the newborn unit alongside a big screen and tablets for the central patient overview. Our service coordinator from Malawi, Alice Likumbo, flew over to coordinate the installation as well as lead the training with clinicians, champions, and local biomedical engineers.

🧑🏽‍⚕️Soon after the installation, KNH and GOAL 3 co-organized a site visit for interested parties during the IMNHC Conference (AlignMNH), including participants from Gates Foundation, Beginnings Fund / ELMA Philanthropies, AFRICAN NEONATAL ASSOCIATION (ANA) and ArcHealth Foundation The staff had clear enthusiasm for IMPALA, and were quickly embracing its capabilities to improve the care in their hospital.

📈 Kenyatta is the second largest hospital in Africa, and is widely regarded by other health facilities as the benchmark for standard of care. This positions it as the ideal launchpad for GOAL 3 to enter the Kenyan market and expand across the country.

👏 We are grateful to the staff and management of Kenyatta who were enthusiastic about IMPALA from the moment they learned of it and have become real champions of IMPALA in Kenya.

🌍 This is an important milestone, not only for our collaboration, but for how proven health innovations can move faster from modest-scale success to wider public-sector adoption across the region.

🤝 ECSA-HC plays a unique regional role in strengthening health systems through coordination, technical assistance, knowledge sharing, training, and digitalization. That makes this partnership highly relevant for accelerating the scale-up of innovations in the public health sector, where the real challenge is often not proving that something works, but creating a credible pathway for adaptation, adoption, financing, and sustained implementation.

That is exactly why this matters for IMPALA.

🏥 IMPALA was built to help health workers in under-resourced settings detect deterioration earlier, prioritize care better, and use data more effectively. Our evidence to date shows that IMPALA can reduce the time spent on monitoring, ease pressure on overstretched teams, and contribute to better outcomes for children and newborns.

📈 But achieving SDG 3 will depend on more than strong innovations alone. It will depend on whether effective solutions can be scaled through real public systems in ways that are practical, sustainable, and country-led.

We believe this collaboration with ECSA-HC can help do exactly that.

🌍 The CE mark is the European Union’s certification, under the new MDR: Regulation (EU) 2017/745 (MDR), that confirms a product meets strict standards for safety, health, and performance. For medical equipment designed for intensive-care settings, like IMPALA, achieving a Class IIb CE involves a long and rigorous assessment to ensure reliability in real-world use.

📁Securing CE marking requires tens of quality tests, hundreds of pages of technical files, and thousands of hours of work - this is why we are beyond excited on this major milestone!

➡️ CE is widely recognized globally as a trusted quality standard. Being CE marked makes it easier to obtain local regulatory approvals in new markets, allowing faster scaling of our system globally.

➡️CE marking enables international partners to work with us more easily. Large institutional stakeholders often have policies on only procuring CE marked products. With IMPALA now CE marked, it can now be bought by these institutions/partners, helping us grow and scale.

➡️ While IMPALA was designed for non-European settings, we have always aimed to meet the highest standards. Obtaining CE marking is a strong validation of the quality and safety of our system.

👏 We are immensely proud that IMPALA is now CE marked, and we are looking forward to seeing the literal CE stamp of approval on IMPALA soon.

We are proud to present to you, the new product design of IMPALA 1.0, being launched into clinical testing this quartile in the IMPALA study in two main hospitals in Malawi! 🎉

After we launched our crowdfunding campaign you might have noticed something new in our video, it was green or white ( yes we have options, but we prefer green 😉), it’s bold and has very high expectations from everyone in our team, so we believe it’s time to present you the long awaited IMPALA 1.0. But don’t fool yourself, this is not just a pretty “face”. 😍

Designed in collaboration with Mango studios we couldn’t be happier about the outcome. With great power comes great responsibilities, this new system counts on a complete and integrated vital signs sensing, monitoring and visualisation system in which GOAL 3 provides all elements needed for the hospital to use the system successfully. IMPALA is designed to be used either as a standalone system, or on-premise connected system.

As GOAL 3 we are innovating our monitoring device and the design makes it more accessible and more sustainable in hospitals in Low- and Middle Income Countries. Our design is optimized for handling, usability, durability, and robustness. It connects to a tablet and a server, making the perfect small ecosystem for seamless data capturing, data transfer, and data control. 📈

The start of a new phase for GOAL 3! ☀️ It’s time for change and you are invited to join our upcoming crowdfunding investment round. ✌️

Last couple of weeks, we kicked off the GOAL 3 - “It’s Time For Change” campaign with the launch of our vision video and our manifesto. It was amazing to see, hear, and read how many people were touched by the video and joined our mission. 🎯

Following this campaign, we are working on the next step, which is securing the last hurdle of funding needed to go to market with the IMPALA monitoring system by the end of this year. From today onwards this investment round is kicked off in a private phase at SYMBID and will be made public next week with quite a big story to tell (P.S. our inner circle knows). 😊

We believe that It’s Time For Change - and you are invited to join us! ✊

Today we launch our campaign to spread awareness for the fact that more than 6 million children are dying every year, while the majority of these children could be saved by interventions costing less than 10$. Together with a talented Dutch and Malawian crew, we made a video to express the struggle of healthcare in low resource settings. 🏥

As GOAL 3, we believe that this current situation is unacceptable and we believe that it’s time for action! 🚨 Luckily there are many people who feel the same. But a lot more people and a lot more action are needed to make a change. That is why we have decided to start this campaign. By raising awareness we aim to inspire and motivate people, organizations and initiatives to work together on making the world a better place. Since together we can be an unstoppable force for good. It’s time for a change! 🎯

We have listed down 9 bullet points in a manifesto, to call for concrete action and spread the word. Join us in raising awareness, calling out for action, and using this action to make a change. ✊
