Choosing for a freehand design can be exciting.
You really have to trust your artist.
I’m always grateful when my clients trust me to use this method 🩷
I prepared some outlines for the iris and decided how to shape the leaves & shade everything in the moment.
Sometimes I like to use a stencil for specific parts. In this case the flowers since it’s a flower I haven’t done very often.
I don’t do all my tattoos freehand, only if I feel this method works the best with the idea that you have.
For this project, freehand was for me the best option. Now the tattoo flows over his shoulder and moves perfectly with his body.
