This supports the advice I have given to many of you over the summer ☺️ Enjoy the water
Yes, you can swim in compression! 🏊 But there are a few things worth knowing before you take the plunge.
Compression socks and stockings can be worn in both the pool and the sea. However, chlorine and salt water can gradually affect the elastic fibres that provide compression, which is why an older, but still intact, pair can be a better choice for swimming than your newest pair.
And what you do afterwards matters too. Rinse your compression in fresh, cool water as soon as possible, dry it flat and away from direct heat and rotate between pairs where you can.
If your compression has been prescribed, always follow the advice of your healthcare professional first.
