Through some strange twists of fate and under the influence of two pharmacists not a single bar of chocolate was ever produced but instead Cavex started selling anaesthetics for dental use. By 1930 Cavex had grown sufficiently to start its own research & development projects and new products were added to the assortment. Due to lack of competition Cavex was mainly production driven and little atte
ntion was paid to sales. This all changed at the end of the seventies. Competition had intensified and Cavex needed to professionalize its organization, resulting in the launch of an extensive marketing and sales division. Modern Cavex is a highly competitive producing organization with a distinct assortment of high quality products and selling worldwide. Our assortment comprises impression materials, composites and bonding systems, hygiene products including home bleaching, laboratory products and temporary materials. In 2011 Cavex became world wide distributor for Vibringe®. The first endodontic product for Cavex since many years. Alginates are our main products and we consider them the backbone of Cavex. We produce a wide range of alginates meeting all indications and preferences. Our oldest alginate CA37 is more than half a century of age and has almost been developed to perfection. Because of our extensive knowledge of alginate and our ongoing research and development, all our alginates have an unmatched high quality and we are the largest manufacturer of this kind of dental product in Europe. Another pillar in the Cavex assortment is the "Quadrant-system", a complete system of composites and bonding systems meeting any indication. This well-balanced system comprises three kinds of high quality composites and two state-of-the-art bonding systems. Quadrant composites are enriched with a fluorescent pigment that gives it an aura of vitality and can hardly be distinguished from real tooth structure. In 2010 Cavex moved to their new premises at the Fustweg 5 in Haarlem. The modern building which has a floor area of 5.250 m2 enabled us to improve the layout of the production and the logistic processes. The new factory will be an important milestone in our future. The long and rich Cavex history has learned us one thing, namely that quality and creativity always have been the key success factors for Cavex and thus will continue to be the basis of our organization.
