🎓 APTUS EDUCATION - ENZYMES: THE LOCK & KEY 🌱
NATURE HAS BILLIONS OF TINY TOOLS
They’re called enzymes.
Enzymes accelerate specific biochemical reactions without being consumed in the process. 🧬
But enzymes don’t interact with everything around them. They work selectively with particular molecules called substrates.
Think of it like:
🔐 ENZYME + SUBSTRATE = LOCK + KEY 🔑
A great example is cellulase. A group of enzymes involved in breaking down cellulose, one of the primary structural materials found in plant cell walls.
And that becomes particularly interesting in the root zone. 🌱
Roots don’t live forever. As roots age and die, their plant material becomes part of the organic matter surrounding the root system. Cellulase producing organisms and their enzymes can help break down the cellulose within that material.
♻️ Nature doesn’t only build. Nature recycles.
Enzymes are part of the biological machinery that turns complex organic materials into simpler compounds.
Grow your plants. Grow your knowledge. 🎓🌱
